A rushing rutger!!!
November 5th, 2022 at 11:08 PM ^
180 total yards. I love this defense.
November 6th, 2022 at 9:56 AM ^
Only 10 points on the defense
November 5th, 2022 at 11:09 PM ^
Wow ! This defense !
November 5th, 2022 at 11:10 PM ^
My hawt take: This D is good.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:26 PM ^
My hawt take: Minter is really good.
Also, I feel great for Michael Barrett. He's hung around for five years. His original position was phased out. And today he gets a pick and a pick 6.
Good for him! He's a major contributor on a great defense.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:57 AM ^
Some may say this belongs in the offense hot takes. Im not sure.
Your yardage leading pass catcher today for Michigan:
1. Barrett 52 yards (tie with Edwards)
Your td leading pass catcher today for both teams:
1. Barrett 1 TD (4 way tie)
Your yardage per catch leader for both teams today:
1. Barrett @ 26 yards per catch

3 points adjusted allowed. Good enough to win any game
November 5th, 2022 at 11:11 PM ^
This defense is incredible. I hope Paige (and everyone else that missed today) is just sick.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:11 PM ^
Thank goodness for the 3rd quarter turnovers otherwise we’d still all be complaining in the game thread about how close it was / is.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:12 PM ^
Michael Barrett for coach of the year and Heisman.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:12 PM ^
It felt annoying in the first half, but they got 10 points and Minter shut the door. His 2nd half adjustments have been lights out this year
November 5th, 2022 at 11:12 PM ^
10 points given up by the D. a couple of big plays and not much else. they're okay.
and with 1 and 4 losing, and #2 (ohio) looking weak as a kitten in evanston, we'd better be at least #3, if not #2 in the CFP rankings.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:37 PM ^
I am thinking the same thing. I actually believe we will be #2. OSU may get a little boost since Norte Dame beat Clemson so I am fine with #3 too. I kind of want us to be ranked behind OSU going into The Game. Go Blue!
November 6th, 2022 at 7:49 AM ^
I dunno, being the Beta might really get in their heads!
November 5th, 2022 at 11:13 PM ^
Michael Barrett is our not so secret weapon!
November 5th, 2022 at 11:18 PM ^
Another lights out second half. My dream of a pick-6 came to fruition. What a breakout game for Michael Barret. Gotta love the INT from Will Johnson. They stopped the run once again.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:18 PM ^
DEEEEEE fense!
November 5th, 2022 at 11:20 PM ^
Game after game we make the best second half adjustments. Hats off to this D. Barrett is turning into a weapon as a LB. That is great news for us. Will Johnson is a player. We were missing a bunch of starters but did not matter. They clamped down on the feisty Rutgers in the second half. Proud of this D.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:49 PM ^
Hard agree. Good to see a staff adjust to what opponents are doing!
November 5th, 2022 at 11:21 PM ^
3 total points given up in the second half across the last four games. This is acceptable.
November 6th, 2022 at 7:50 AM ^
My brain read "unacceptable" at first.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:23 PM ^
Minter makes fantastic adjustments In the second half. Really only gave up ten points, and then once again, thorough domination in the second half.
I hope Michigan is ready to open its checkbook to keep him. He’s going to be getting calls for HC jobs, if not this year than absolutely next year.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:25 PM ^
My only gripe is we are still struggling on some of those 50/50 balls…but there also seems to be some push offs, other than that we dominate
November 6th, 2022 at 12:02 AM ^
Agree but if the best you can do against us is a deep 50/50 ball, I feel good
November 6th, 2022 at 7:51 AM ^
Hopefully we still feel the same after playing against Marvin Harrison Jr.

Gave up 10 in a conference road game against a fired up "rival". Excellent.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:30 PM ^
A Rutger is always best when Rutgers is the one doing it. A true Rutger just can't be beaten, even though Rutgers can very handily be beaten.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:30 PM ^
We played well. Once again some we made adjustments in second half. We seem to get hit with a couple jump balls but overall we killed them.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:32 PM ^
The defense not taking a step back this season has been remarkable. Not just the talent that we lost, but the fact that they were at some of the most valuable positions. I think the DL and especially the interior being dominant against the run has really made that possible.
The big concern is and will always be Ohio State. I do think we can control their run game again, but if there’s one QB/WR group in the country that can consistently make those deep contested catches that Michigan has given up it would be Ohio State.
The offense is going to have to play great complementary football again and right now I think we can. I don’t want to get ahead of myself because that’s how the 1st half happens, but what a matchup this is going to be.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:45 AM ^
Dline play has been stunning I think. Really thought that would be our weak spot, instead its their strenght and covers up our LB's who are the weak spot.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:33 PM ^
Brian was prophetic about the 3 INTS in the game preview
November 6th, 2022 at 8:00 AM ^
I was surprised they took so long, but glad to see them regardless.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:42 PM ^
The defense allowed 10 points, and nothing at all in the second half. A group of total badasses today. Need to lock up Minter long term if we can. The halftime adjustments are lights out, though his semester exam comes on 11/26.
Very happy for President / Chancellor / Dean Barrett and his picks. Will Johnson showed a couple frosh mistakes but then got his pick too.
Overall, Rutgers offense was like MSU's last week. Some 50/50 chucks connected -- annoying -- but there was nothing of substance. It's virtually impossible to run on this defense.
I love this defense.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:42 PM ^
Will Johnson better than DJ.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:47 PM ^
Even Google is in on the meme
November 5th, 2022 at 11:56 PM ^
I googled “A rushing Rutger” and it came back with no images available.
im guessing Minter wouldnt even allow it to happen on google.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:47 PM ^
Beware Marvin …. Will Johnson number 2 in your program is coming for you …. talk to Terry Glenn about the number 2 true freshman who knocked him off his pedestal!!!
November 5th, 2022 at 11:53 PM ^
Just another second-half shutout for Minter's boys.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:10 AM ^
Jesse Minter might be one of the best halftime adjustment coaches I’ve ever seen. It’s honestly pretty remarkable how many great defense coordinator hires Michigan has poached from the Baltimore Ravens organization.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:16 AM ^
Fucking mack trucks is what they are. The second half adjustments continue to be stellar. Jesse Minter is vying for the the best coordinator hire in a long long time. Final judgement will be the last weekend in November.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:22 AM ^
What was the stat, 6pts all season surrendered in Q3? Update it to -1.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:29 AM ^
It’s a moral imperative that I must write in Michael Barrett for Michigan Regent on my ballot this coming Tuesday.
November 6th, 2022 at 11:18 AM ^
He may end up being elected at multiple positions (un)fortunately
November 6th, 2022 at 12:30 AM ^
All hail halftime adjustments and true Freshmen Qb's.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:49 AM ^
Such tremendous coaching.
Beautiful coordination of talented players given roles and scheme to succeed.
Absolutely lights out in the second half, week after week.
Special props to Barrett - what a game! So happy for him to get his day to shine.
Well done! Go Blue!

Every team is going to try fades against us. Can we just build that into our game plans from the beginning?
November 6th, 2022 at 10:34 AM ^
Yes, and if the fade is thrown well, it is impossible to defend against. But the fade is also a sign of offense desperation. If it isn’t thrown well, it gets picked. So the fact that this is what offenses are doing is a sign that they are getting desperate fast
