The calls are still mind boggling, most frustrating to see Milton come out to start when everyone saw how calm and collected he was during the Wisconsin game.

If Macnamara gets the start, we would have won by 21, with no overtime.

Nordin yelling “Do your F*cking job!!!” after the end of the first half miss was epic.  He comes out and misses two more when everyone else did their job flawlessly.  Where is Jake Moody?  He should be the kicker for the rest of the year, McNamara the QB and Reynolds at safety. Start the players that give you the best chance to win.

Logged in to address this from a broader perspective. After the past few games, McCaffrey bailing could be seen in a different light: that is, Milton was anointed and he, McCaffrey, didn't feel like there was any shot to change Harbaugh's mind.

We've seen in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and now in 2020 that Jim Harbaugh doesn't like to change course once he's picked a starting QB. Sometimes he's proven right to stick with a struggling guy.

So, no, I don't think that there was a competition this week that Milton won.

Uh...we won.

I really dislike shotgun on 4th and inches. Sneaks from under center are extremely difficult to stop behind the line. Why don't we practice them at least a little?

I don't understand the decision to sit on the ball at the end of regulation. 25 seconds is plenty of time to get the 40 yards or so to get into field goal range.

Otherwise, we don't have much to work with especially on defense. We should have been practicing zone from the beginning of camp, but that's moot now.

This result is even more reason to get rid of Harbaugh. Offense is absolute dogshit with Milton. The very second Cade comes in, it’s speed in space, easy yards, easy throws, running game opens up. I mean what in the actual fuck is Harbaugh doing?

Not realizing that McNamara and Haskins are your best QB and RB, respectively, is coaching malpractice. Playing Milton and 4 running backs does not give the team the best chance to win. That’s unfair to the players who are busting their butts day in and day out. Harbaugh has forgotten more about football than I know. That’s not a compliment. He has passed his coaching expiration date.

Bingo. Dude needs to go. How many other positions aren’t seeing the best players play? Recruiting, if not top 80 guy in country, how you going to find those other guys to use scholarships on? Can’t evaluate your own team, not confident in how you pick recruits.

Talent evaluation is poor.

Michigan would've had a better chance to win if Harbaugh didn't make the trip.

His in game coaching instincts are all dead wrong.

Alot of fight in McNamara and Haskins.

We are missing 3/5 of our starting O-line.

We are missing our 2 starting DE's

Our best CB and WR opted out for the year.

And none of this excuses the piss-poor coaching imo.  There should be enough depth such that UM's 2nd string in Harbaugh's 6th year can still beat Rutgers by 14+ points.

And, had Cade started and been allowed to actually throw, we would have won by 14+ points.

I can be realistic and give the staff a pass on the facts around players opting out and the ridiculous number of injuries we have if playing a competent opponent.

1. There is NO EXCUSE for this staff to not be starting Cade over Milton from day 1 of this season.

2. There is NO EXCUSE for this staff to still not have a functional zone defense knowing what the talent they lack at CB and DT.

Entire staff needs to be replaced - the opt outs and injuries just reinforce the lack of recruiting and depth needed to build a solid program.

Let's not forget our starting MLB and Strong Safety both went out of the game, early.

Not only are we playing a bunch of new players, but.....literally all the best players have opted out or got hurt....except Dax Hill.  Not to mention, no spring practice or "warm up" games.

Not many teams would be awesome with that.

I still say fire all those mother fuckers. We give up 42 to Rutgers. That feels like a lose to me. Just embarrassing.

How can anyone have confidence in this coaching staff ? The talent assessment that said Joe Milton is QB1 was beyond wrong .  It likely cost us at least one W this year . This team was better on Offense and Defense after Cade started playing and leading this team  .

The team was already young and thin to start the season and has been missing three high NFL draft picks (Mayfield, Paye and Hutchinson). They were without both tackles and the center from an o-line which began the season with only one holdover. They’ve been through three a terrible three game stretch and have been hearing everyone call them dogs and call for their coaches to be fired. Then, they start this one down 17-0. There was every opportunity to quit, but they didn’t. It sure wasn’t pretty, but it absolutely was gutty.

All true, but

1) In Harbaugh's 6th year at UM, the program should be good enough that it's 2nd string is at least 14 points better than Rutgers.  Our lack of depth is an indictment of this staff's recruiting and player development. Hell, even Vegas thought we were 10 points better than Rutgers.

2) Having Milton at starter over Cade is an indictment of the staff's complete inability to identify and develop talent.

I won't shit on the players - the current situation is 100% on the coaches.

In this era, I think it’s harder to develop depth, unless you’re Alabama and OSU, with a constant influx of ultra-talented players. Most of the best players leave school early for the NFL and many of those who don’t get the playing time they’d like transfer.

‘The coaches aren’t without blame, but this has been a very strange year. With the backing of many here, they may run Harbaugh out of town at the end of the season, but the record of whoever comes next isn’t going to be as good as his.
