Rutgers fans: "This game is our National Championship"

Remember that time when Rutgers expected to go 10-2? Well, our most hated rival is at it again.

In honor of #RivalryWeek, here are a few particularly delusional comments from various Rutgers message boards, blogs, facebook threads, and forums that I copy-and-pasted for your viewing pleasure. (No, I don't care to link to any of them. If you care that much, go look them up for yourself.)

I think Rutgers, coming home, will be angry and motivated to show the Big Ten that they are no easy task.
All I can think of, though, is the last time Big Blue came to Piscataway. It was also a prime time game. And, guess what, we won that game for our first Big Ten victory and first Big Ten field rush at home.
Michigan isn't Ohio State. I don't expect a shutout.

If there is one game, ONE GAME on the schedule we absolutely MUST WIN, it's this one. This game is our National Championship. Michigan is the worst p.o.s. program there ever was, we have to CRUSH them. They took Peppers and Gary, fuck those dickwads. I look for Coach Ash to shock the world with a HUGE UPSET.

This is the same group of fans that chanted F U Navy during a home football game.  Nothing shows class more than putting down and swearing some of the people who are serving in the armed forces.

I think with some of those comments it's safe to say their fan base has whored themselves out to OSU.

Subconsciously they've realized that their program is never going to compete in the Big Ten. So they've created this fictional rivalry against us.

P. S. Rutgers fans, enjoy that win against us when ClapTrap was coaching. Because that's not happening again for a long time.

This is not only sadly true about how Rutgers fans are feeling about this game, but sadly accurate to show how idiotic and unaware of themselves they are. Not to throw Rutgers love, but how does anyone put that above "Pademonium in Piscataway?" Beating a #3 team and putting yourself in the top-10 is (for Rutgers) a pretty huge moment.

That being said, I sense an MSU mentality of taking more pleasure in M's failure than in their own success.

I'm not even worried about TTFP game bc we will be favored after we beat Michigan

With the score Michigan 63 - Rutgers 0 in the 4th quarter with 20 seconds left, Harbaugh needs to use a timeout and call a pass play from the Rutgers five yard line with Peppers and Gary both on offense. Then after scoring another TD, go for two.  If any time remains, kick an onside kick.

These people really think that ash is an elite hc, and that Michigan is so overrated that they can beat them by multiple TD's. They really should just hope that harbaugh pulls the starters before urban did. That way they have a shot at getting in fg range. They are in for such a let down it will be almost as funny as the let down spart will have on the 29th

There may be another factor at play here.  New York City is very heavy with Michigan students and alumni...probably heavy enough to piss off everyone across the river in Jersey because they hear about it so much.
