Rudocks development is to QB recruiting as Durkin to Maryland is for Coach Recruiting
If it is true that Durkin is getting a legit power 5 after 1 year you'd think it ups our chances to get legit coaching talent going forward. We may not keep them 10 years but that problem should take care of itself.
As hard of a pill as it is to swallow to see him leave so soon it could be a very great thing for us long term
--edit. I fixed the title here was the drunk one for posterity and negs

Look at the guy who broke the news, there's nothing that says insider about his twitter account and a recruit on a visit just refuted the claim.
Why not just wait and then have a take? This could be a bunch of nothing...right now, it looks like it's just that.

Get it right.

Is that a Northern Cities Vowel Shift thing?

Your title confuses me.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. Holy shit.

Failed attempt at the SAT "this is to that".
The whole point was there aren't to many coaches or programs that can take a DC and turn him into a legit power 5 HC in one year.
That is very similar to what harbs development of Rudock will do for future QB recruiting. Where else would you want to go get developed if he can make a "cut" qb at Iowa a potential NFL serviceable QB.

He was already an interim HC at a power5 school. that alone puts him on the radar to be a head coach. That, and the fact that he is a very good coach.
Being here with Harbaugh helps, but we are not THE reason he is under sonsideration.
November 29th, 2015 at 5:08 PM ^
He's coached for more than one year? OP disagrees
November 29th, 2015 at 4:27 PM ^
I actually understand what you said, and you deciphered that from what he wrote. Did you have to translate it into and out of a string of foreign languages to glean coherent concepts from it?
November 29th, 2015 at 4:15 PM ^
I don't get it
November 29th, 2015 at 4:16 PM ^
a mild concussion at The Game yesterday? That would explain your post, OP.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:21 PM ^
It could have, likely, been a possible probable mild-like concussion, maybe, or not.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:23 PM ^
Let's send him back in for another thread...
November 29th, 2015 at 5:19 PM ^
Targeting should have been called.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:16 PM ^
I don't understand this thinking. Coordinators are typically replaced in house. MSU didn't get a top notch DC to replace Narduzzi, they promoted their secondary coach. If you do go out of house to replace a coordinator you get a Tim Beck type hire. Not many great DC's available to be poached. I guess Pruitt at Georgia is potentially one, but many think he'll wind up at Alabama if Kirby Smart gets hired elsewhere.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:19 PM ^
When Harbaugh lost Shafer to Michigan after 2007 (small world, huh?), did he promote a position coach or hire from the outside?
November 29th, 2015 at 4:25 PM ^
Couldn't tell ya. I believe he brought in Fangio in 2010 but otherwise I don't know who his DC's were at Stanford.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:18 PM ^
He's saying that if Durkin can get a solid offer after one year, other coaches will come to Michigan in hopes of the same thing. Maybe that's what he meant by coach recruiting. That's an interesting concept.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:20 PM ^
Yah. Screwed the pooch when trying to type after the contusion @ the game. Sry.
At least I may set a negbang record :)

but every take you've had thereafter sounds like gibberish, how about reading your comments before pressing send cause your grammar fucking sucks.
EDIT: I see you amended the title, so good on you for that.

Thats it, he is a Gibberling, good on him for being fluent in his native language and being able to use electronic media.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:24 PM ^
Just change the thread title: Coach Recruiting?
November 29th, 2015 at 4:33 PM ^
Like Harbaugh just lost a coach and he needs to recruit another one?
Or, some of Harbaughs staff need to be coached on their recruiting?
The bucks had our number yesterday, but today we shall unleash our vengeance on coherence and sentence structure.
November 29th, 2015 at 5:11 PM ^
He doesn't like coach recruiting.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:23 PM ^
Thanks for the translation. btw I don't think a potential Durkin move to Maryland gives Harbaugh new credibility.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:28 PM ^
Agreed. Coaches are a different animal altogether than players in terms of ego. Coaching under Harbaugh is attractive, and this does not change that, but it doesn't really help IMO.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:18 PM ^
The title kinda reminds me of how, where is section 47?
Hey thanks, not sorry,

you're trying to say. But it still doesn't make any sense. But nice try.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:37 PM ^
Changing my downvote to an up vote now that the title has been clarified.
To answer the question, I think this could help but I think Harbaugh already had the cachet long before this. People want to learn from him.
November 29th, 2015 at 4:37 PM ^
I'd rather have continuity. Constantly changing coaches can't be good for recruiting. Or for player morale.

I'm a UM Enginering grad and most of us are illiterate. I also don't want to be the grammar police, but WTF?! Tell me you are still drunk please...
After yesterday's humiliation, I could still hang my hat on the fact that UM is an elite academic institution, Ann Arbor is a wonderful town, and MGoBlog is full of funny, insightful and intelligent posters. Now this!

All this "after one year" is off base. Sure it's one year at Michigan but he also had a successful run at Florida as a DC.

Seems to me with Harbaugh here now, UM finally has the ability with the waiting list to pull an Alabama. Season ticket holders that are caught selling their tickets to opposing fans lose their season tickets.
