Rudocks development is to QB recruiting as Durkin to Maryland is for Coach Recruiting

So other than the ridiculously long thread title.
If it is true that Durkin is getting a legit power 5 after 1 year you'd think it ups our chances to get legit coaching talent going forward. We may not keep them 10 years but that problem should take care of itself.
As hard of a pill as it is to swallow to see him leave so soon it could be a very great thing for us long term

--edit. I fixed the title here was the drunk one for posterity and negs

Look at the guy who broke the news, there's nothing that says insider about his twitter account and a recruit on a visit just refuted the claim.

Why not just wait and then have a take? This could be a bunch of nothing...right now, it looks like it's just that.

Failed attempt at the SAT "this is to that".

The whole point was there aren't to many coaches or programs that can take a DC and turn him into a legit power 5 HC in one year.

That is very similar to what harbs development of Rudock will do for future QB recruiting. Where else would you want to go get developed if he can make a "cut" qb at Iowa a potential NFL serviceable QB.

I don't understand this thinking.  Coordinators are typically replaced in house.  MSU didn't get a top notch DC to replace Narduzzi, they promoted their secondary coach.  If you do go out of house to replace a coordinator you get a Tim Beck type hire.  Not many great DC's available to be poached.  I guess Pruitt at Georgia is potentially one, but many think he'll wind up at Alabama if Kirby Smart gets hired elsewhere.

He's saying that if Durkin can get a solid offer after one year, other coaches will come to Michigan in hopes of the same thing. Maybe that's what he meant by coach recruiting. That's an interesting concept.

Changing my downvote to an up vote now that the title has been clarified.

To answer the question, I think this could help but I think Harbaugh already had the cachet long before this. People want to learn from him.

I'm a UM Enginering grad and most of us are illiterate. I also don't want to be the grammar police, but WTF?! Tell me you are still drunk please...

After yesterday's humiliation, I could still hang my hat on the fact that UM is an elite academic institution, Ann Arbor is a wonderful town, and MGoBlog is full of funny, insightful and intelligent posters. Now this!

Seems to me with Harbaugh here now, UM finally has the ability with the waiting list to pull an Alabama. Season ticket holders that are caught selling their tickets to opposing fans lose their season tickets.
