Rudocks development is to QB recruiting as Durkin to Maryland is for Coach Recruiting
If it is true that Durkin is getting a legit power 5 after 1 year you'd think it ups our chances to get legit coaching talent going forward. We may not keep them 10 years but that problem should take care of itself.
As hard of a pill as it is to swallow to see him leave so soon it could be a very great thing for us long term

Why would anyone go to A) a basketball school B) with no extensive football tradition C) with a crappy roster D) in the same division as UM, MSU, PSU and OSU?
I think he's a good coach but he'd be lucky to make it three years.

and they cant find anyone worth getting then put Mattison back at D-coordinator. Give him a respectable linebacker and d-line coach. There are options for this team no matter what, just going to have to spend more money is all. Needless to say UM has enough of it from what I always hear. If Durkin stays I would get a linebackers coach though to help him out. No offense to him or the current linebackers but they have a long way to go now. Losing 4 seniors here people and a ton of playing time.

Durkin would fall under the Urban Meyer coaching tree. Coaches will come to Michigan because it is a top job and we are willing to pay coordinators top money.

Wiltfong just posted that he is predicting Durkin will be the new Maryland Coach. Said it's not for sure, but based on what he's hearing that his gut feeling. TIFWIW.
