Harbaugh news of the day.

For #Michigan fans curious about Jim Harbaugh: Booster Stephen Ross is much more interested in him at U-M than with #Dolphins

Harbaugh is going to end up being the highest paid football coach in the world. There is going to be an enormous amount of pressure on Harbaugh to win if he does end up at Michigan.

For fuck sake.. His wife doesn't want to leave the Bay Area and I don't blame her, I don't see any quote saying she wouldn't leave come hell or high water. These generic quotes are twisted into some meaning they weren't intended. I'm sure if Jim wanted to come here she wouldn't put up a big fight. She's not from the Bay Area so I can't imagine there's any strong "ties" keeping her there.

Rich people are different from you and me.

The idea of "living somewhere" is fluid when you can afford half a dozen houses.

She can just keep living in SF while he is coaching in A2. He'll never be home anyway.

She can spend falls in A2 when it's pretty there.  In the winter when he's out recruiting, she can reside in SF.

The whole nation is their living room.

All things being equal, nobody would leave the Bay Area for AA.  All things are not equal as the Michigan job is in Michigan.  She won't be the deciding factor.

Let me not appear to be comparing myself to Jim Harbaugh in any other way than age & geography. My father took a job in SF around the same time that Jack Harbaugh went to Stanford. I've been here over 30 years now. I return home every October for a visit to friends and family (and of course go to a game). I could totally see returning, and in fact 2 friends have returned to A2 from the Bay Area to raise their families. And no one offered either of them $30-40 mill to do it either. So what I'm saying is...We got a shot!

It's difficult to understand why some people want to stay mediocre. Hackett - you make this happen and you are the man.

that sound great but don't seem to have much weight behind it. Ross can say that all he wants but if Harbaugh is named the next Dolphins coach all Ross has to say is "this is the job he wanted". Heck, it's all Jim has to say. It's a win-win for Ross in that scenario. However, the guy doesn't need another dime, you almost literally can't lose money being an NFL owner (in itself) and you have to question if he gets more pleasure out of seeing UM win or Miami win. NFL coaches will always be there. NFL caliber coaches in the CFB ranks are VERY RARE. Plus, I think it was reported that Jim wants an NFC job because of his brother. I think he said he'd only want to meet in a playoff game if it was the SB. So, good to hear but very open ended.

So now Scout is reporting that Harbaugh is already discussing assistants he wants to bring with him to UM. Take it for what its worth, just thought it deserved to be reported.

You guys better watch out for the Beav's sychophants! When I was a member of that site I questioned if he even watched Michigan games as he had an elementary at best understanding of what was happening in games. But he creeps on high school boys so he has that going for him.

Yeah, it's hard to envision a guy as driven as JH doing this, since it would be a sure sign he's already mentally checked out of the 49ers job.

Besides, he probably doesn't have to think for more than ten seconds to come up with a list of guys he'd want as assistants. There's no reason for him to be thinking about that now.

They are clueless over there. Take it with a grain of salt. I'll add this to the discussion. If Jim leaves the west coast, he could lose custody of his 3 kids from his first marriage. His first wife will definitely be taking it to court. For some reason, this never gets brought up. It's something he'll have to weigh in his decision. It's a factor that leads me to believe he's taking Oaklands job IF he decides to leave SF.
