Risk Day 50 - This. Is. It. This Is The Final Turn And It's Us Or The Buckeyes. The Good Guys Or The Evil Empire. How Will (Risk) History Remember YOUR Contribution?

Submitted by Michigan CFB R… on May 11th, 2020 at 11:26 AM

This is it. After nearly two months of play, College Football Risk is coming to an end tonight at 11 PM ET. Whoever owns the most territories tomorrow morning is the winner. Period.

There is no way to guarantee victory. As you guys know, RNG is a fickle beast. It's not, however, a mystery. Especially if you have a strong understanding of statistics, which our guys do. They know how to maximize the probabilities to give us the best chance at victory, and that is exactly what they will be doing throughout today as you get your orders from MichiganCFBRisk.com.

To be clear, though, it's all of YOU who will determine whether we have a chance. If you guys show up in droves, we will have a good shot at winning. If you guys decide it's not worth 30 seconds of your day (or you simply forget), though, there's a very, very good chance that the Ohio State Buckeyes will take home the victory. They are the only team in the same ballpark as us with player count and power. They are the only other team to break the 5,000 power mark (we're at 8163 and they're at 6288), and they are also the only other team with over 1,000 players.

In other words, the Buckeyes came to fight, and it's up to YOU to make sure they go home empty-handed. Go to MichiganCFBRisk.com one more time, put in your move one more time, ask your friend(s) to do the same one more time, and let's do everything we can to win one for the Maize and Blue.

I also want to say this....it has been an honor writing this recaps for all of you. I've received compliments from so many of you and I can't emphasize enough how much those mean to me. I love writing and I love Michigan, so doing these recaps has been a blast, and I am so happy that I was able to contribute something fun to the fight and (hopefully) put a smile on your faces during these insane times.

With all that said, and in the immortal words of Mitch McGary....Win The Game.

Seeing how well coin flips have gone against these guys in the last 15 years, I’m gonna just assume we lose and be pleasantly surprised if it’s something else.

somewhat off topic... but outside of football we aren't particularly snake bitten... and the Poole shot alone probably used up half a decade worth of luck.  Throw in Burke deep three against kansas, after they missed a couple free throws, and I feel like we should consider the fact that maybe our teams that deserve good luck make their own good luck?

For anyone not playing, it's incredibly easy to create an account and play. Once you get an account set up, it takes a good 30 seconds to put in your move. I"ve made it part of my morning routine and it's been incredibly painless.

If only we were (mostly) all stuck at home all day...

Of course, given the fickle beast that is RNG, any one of Michigan, osu, GT, Wisconsin have a shot at winning. And yeah, I guess I'll give TAMU an outside shot, also.

Finally got sick of reading these and not doing anything...i signed up, got an assignment, and am ready to fling myself at ***REDACTED***.  This means less than nothing to me, but I respect that it is important to a good number of people on this board, so I hope my contribution helps you guys win.  Go Blue!

I have been questioning our ally Nebraska, and how we have benefitted from that alliance.

I am very interested to see how they show themselves as our allies on this last turn.  There are some moves I see that Nebraska needs to make for sure.  A half dozen or so territories that they need to pour themselves into.

DON'T LIST ORDERS!! Let's the enemy know what we're doing.

Wait, so are we not listing orders, or are we letting the enemy know what we're doing? I'm confused.

Seriously though, does it really count if it's a rogue? Unless rogues are getting their orders through some channel other than Michigancfbrisk.com, I assume they're just making their own decisions about what to attack/defend.

Sooooo....

This is how we're reconciling all of our losses to them, and for the unforeseeable future?

On the other hand... hey, we're beating Alabama too!!!

(I wish)

You've done an amazing job with the write-ups and this has been a lot of fun.

I just made 2 star this morning and put in my move.
