Sad news.  Loved his offenses.  Peace to his family.

I'm sad...

Gary Moeller was (and probably always will be) my favorite Michigan Football coach. Do people know that he was an elite OC *and* elite DC? There are very few coaches in the world who excel at both sides of football. And if that unfortunate episode hadn't happened, then Michigan Football's trajectory is probably very different. (I've written posts about it before...)

I hoped Coach Gary Moeller would live long enough to see Michigan Football win another National Championship...

Wow, sad news indeed. I always disagreed with the "resignation", but I understood it. He seemed to be a very decent man, and a very good coach! RIP Coach Moeller, Forever Go Blue!

Very sad to see this about the passing of Coach Moeller, a fine man and a very good coach who was at times in his life a bit star-crossed.

🙏🏼 Rest in peace Coach Moeller.

I was a freshman during the infamous 9-0-3 season.  I am sad to read about this.

A tribute to the stupidity of the Detroit lions he should have been named head coach of the lions when he was interim after the Bobby Ross meltdown.

Maybe Michigan's best head coach in the modern era, too hard to tell since he wasnt here long enough though. He made a mistake that he didnt deserve to lose the job for. RIP Coach

I became a fan of Michigan football during the Moeller era. I was so bummed when he stepped down. I'll aways appreciate what Coach Carr has done for the program, but I'll always wonder about what could have been with Coach Mo. RIP Coach.

Everyone remembers Moeller going for it on 4th down against Notre Dame but remember he did the same against Alabama in the bowl game when Bo had to stay home and recover from heart surgery.....

RIP, Coach Moeller.  And thank you for the memories.

Coach Mo’s teams are the first ones I really remember coming as they did in my teen years. Some of the best offenses Michigan has ever had. Good coach and save for one incident, an excellent representative of the program.

Godspeed, Coach. You will be missed.

I met Coach Moeller back in 1983 while coaching in the Cleveland area and he visited our school several times while recruiting over the next several years.  He was a man that loved football and a man that others football coaches loved to be around.
Thank you Coach for all that you did for our sport and for Michigan.

Rest in Peace, one of the best coaches in Michigan football history.

Of course, his tenure will always have that "What could have been?" element attached to it.
