I typically scan avatars as a quick check to see if a comment is worth reading. So one's avatar to post quality is something I pay more attention to than avatar to skin ratio.
I'd also like to add avatars featuring very large profanity to this category. Thanks for making me have to check over my shoulder any time I scroll down the thread and come to one of your posts.It's a picture of boobies!

Avatars/signatures in general are dumb. If you have a funny joke to tell, tell it one time. Don't make us have to see it 500 times.

That's not what I wrote. It just seems slightly dorky to me to put a picture of a woman next to your avatar name -- as if to say "look at me, I found a picture of a hot chick." But as I said before, I don't care that much either way. Slow work day.
