Resumé Looking Even Better: Toledo is 11-3; Bowling Green is 9-3

Tournament resumé update: Just checked on our non-conference foes, and there's good news. Toledo (11-3) and Bowling Green (9-3) are atop the MAC, and Ball State (5-5) isn't far behind. UCF is 3-3.

In fact, the only one of our non-conference foes with a losing record is the team that's given us our toughest game; Oakland is 3-10. They might end up hanging a banner for taking us to OT.

Also, NC State is 6-4 and 54th in the NET rankings. Toledo is 56th in the NET, so that exchange seems to be a wash.

Michigan is playing amazing basketball right now.

But it's a long season. Teams go on hot and cold streaks, COVID, injuries (please no) happen. We have played 2 games on the road to this point. Michigan has an absolutely brutal 10 games to finish the season (vs Ind, MSU, Ill, Rutgers, Iowa; @ NW, Wisco, OSU, Ind, MSU).

Let the season play out. 11 games in and so many people acting like we won a championship already.

What I love about the team is the way they get better as the games matriculate, once they figure out what the opponent is doing or trying to do, they begin to systematically throttle them.

It's a wonderful feeling watching it, I highly doubt Oakland would take us to OT or PSU would play us so close today. This team has become a unit on another level.

Franz is playing great, Hunter keeps getting better,  the rest of the guys are playing great and with a confident swagger.

Thank you Juwan and staff!

I'd like to make the case that Mike Smith as a key to this team going forward.  Currently, he's playing 30 min/game, shooting 53/46/82, playing much better defense, and leading the team in assists.  Turnovers are a problem, but he will get better.  He is becoming an upgrade over X and I didn't see that coming at all after the first month of the season.  He must be in Hog Heaven.

Agree with this sentiment.   I was clamoring for Brown to be locked onto Davison all night since I assumed they would successfully post Davison up against Smith.   Smith defended any post-up attempts extremely well and played stellar perimeter defense.    He's improving defensively.   Part of it is probably getting comfortable with the top-to-bottom roster skill level in the B1G compared to the Ivy League.   I'm so impressed how he's integrated with this team on both ends of the court.

To add to this, their Nonconference SoS on Kenpom was ranked in the upper 200s going into B1G play. Now it’s at 188–not great, but not an anchor. Especially when you consider their overall SoS is 60th and will likely get better.

After getting shellacked by Florida State last night, NC State is actually now down to 75th in the NET, with Toledo holding steady at #56 (Wichita jumped them).

Notre Dame (3-8) and Butler (3-7), two teams thrown about as potential replacements when NC State's COVID issues were announced, are in total freefall and currently sit at #156 and #163, respectively.

With Toledo undefeated since losing to Michigan and looking strong, that swap looks more and more #blessed by the day.

Switching Toledo for nc state due to the whole covid situation turned out to be a great decision. At this point non conference means nothing. We have already beaten multiple ranked teams but this Saturday we get the opportunity to beat one on the road. Should be a great game!
