Quote from Nebraska A.D.

Submitted by Blue_42 on

"You've got Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh thinking, 'We better put a little more into that Nebraska game coming up.' And that's the way we want it. They're running a little bit scared right now. And they won't admit it. We'll leave that at that."

Can't wait for this game. One of my best friends is a longtime Husker fan. I brought him with me the last time they played in the big house and plan on bringing him again this year.  I'm sure he'll leave disappointed again. Go Blue!

edit: was thinking of 2011 game

My first thought:

"Oh geez, what just happened at Nebraska? Was Nebraska good last year? I can't for the life of me remember anything relevant about Nebraska which might make this quote make sense."

That's what Nebraska has been reduced to: I can't remember anything relevant about them, and I didn't even register how their season went last year.

That game can rot in hell.

Nebraska with their 115th ranked defense and our offense could muster just 13 points on them (the touchdown was thanks to them losing a fumble deep in their own territory.)

I watched Wyoming put up nearly 700 yards of offense on that same Nebraska D in Lincoln.  What a joke.

The most memorable thing about that game was debating whether or not Mary Sue Coleman was drunk when she spoke to the crowd at halftime.

...running scared. Scott Frost is a pretty intimidating guy. And his 4-8 Huskers looked to be almost murderers last year if you discount their losing to Northern Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota (badly).

He's a good coach, and maybe his Huskers will be really good in a year or two, but I don't think they are a team to be running scared from this year.

Prepare for them like you would any other team.

What else is he supposed to say? "We built a team that is still lightyears away from competing in B1G. Please keep buying tickets till then". :D Those games will be fun nonetheless.

LOL. Someone needs to tell this guy we have beat Ohio State twice in seventeen years. Our little brother has reached the pinnacle of their program history and beat us in bunches while our team has suffered countless heartbreaks. We are not afraid of Nebraska, or anyone really. Once you have experienced what we've gone through, why would we be scared of the prospect of one more potential loss? When you have experienced rock bottom, you become free. Go chirp at someone with something to lose.

Kind of like when my then wife told me she was wanting to stop her sister from getting married and I, for some reason, said "Well, tell him to look at us.  He'll run to his car and leave a mile long tire mark escaping when he understands"...   I had no idea where that came from and she was not amused and would have downvoted my remark if she could...

but I meant to help when I said it...

Ohio State beat you 56-14 in Lincoln last year.  And it could have been worse than that.  If they put any more thought in to beating you, they'd win by 100.

And f*** you for making me defend Ohio State.
