A question about team photos 91-96
For team photos are the entire team pictured? Do they include guys buried on the depth chart and walk ons? I met a guy claiming to be a Wolverine wide receiver. He was 42 years old so he would most likely be on one of these rosters 91-96. I don't see his name listed at all on the roster posted on Bentley historical library.

Maybe he played flag football.

I played flag football at UM from 91-96. Res Hall champs in 92! We played at the campus finals twice in Oosterban, losing to the Sammies both times I believe. Both times we had Earl Riskie award winners at QB.

cool story bro.

It was cool. Sammies pulled the fire alarms at Markley every hour on the hour the night before the game to make sure we didn't get any sleep. Those guys were great. One of them even took a dump in our stairwell to make sure we knew who we were dealing with that day.

I played with a bunch of athletically challenged engineers in 92. We unsuccessfully tried to get Derek Jeter to play with on our team.

This was a few years after Milligan had graduated. The guy was a former walk-on defensive back, or said he was (the name is in the Bentley database). Never explained why he wasn't using his own ID. It was a Grad/Fac/Staff game, and the guy is now a dentist in Chicago.

they do include everyone on the team... hence team photo...

The entire team is in the photos as well as the historical roster. The guy was most likely full of shit if you can't find him.

all sorts of goings-on with that team, including losing our coach (wilf) and good luck finding everyone that was on that team or even a mention that giordano took over and then killed our program.

I was always curious. Just figured that hockey didn't keep track as well as football.

Thanks that's what I was thinking but I wanted to be sure. You would think he would atleast be mentioned on one team photo.

With the coach. Then he blew his knee out, as he points to the knee he blew out. I think we are talking about the recruit from the Niagra Falls area, most to all of you don't know him.

are from the 1890s and 1920s.
However, if he was a walk-on, there's a chance he wouldn't be listed... I'm not sure the database lists those if they never got a scholarship.

Thanks Don I'll ask a few more questions next time I see them. It seems like a really stupid thing to lie about but, nothing really surprises me now a days.

I'm wondering if we've got another Roll Damn Tide/WolverineInABag situation on our hands.
November 4th, 2015 at 5:32 PM ^
No he isn't claiming to have inside info or anything and at the time they didn't even know I was a Michigan fan. They knew I was originally from Ohio and his wife asked me if I was a buckeye fan. I threw up a little in my mouth and told her I was a Michigan Wolverines fan, she then said oh my husaband played for they as a wide receiver for the Wolverines but was too slow for the NFL.

I think the Roll Damn Tide thing is more about you and the other poster somehow knowing this same guy when no one else has heard of him, which could make one wonder if you're really two separate posters...

I don't care what the historical database says, Amani Toomer did too play WR in the 90s!

Was that the last John Frankenheimer film? Great cast - Deniro, Reno and East Germany skating star Katarina Witt.

There is a chance he played for a year and quit; essentially walked on in the Fall and quit before the following Fall.

The photos, at least during those times, showed the WHOLE team. Everyone including walk-ons. Seniors in the front row on back to true frosh.
I can pretty much remember ALL of the members of those teams. If you don't want to call him out, just give me some initials.
