"The Pride of Columbus"

Submitted by jonvalk on
How fitting is it that Burke and Sullinger both had career-high games at 30 points last night? No wonder that Northland team in Columbus was out of this world good. Burke shot 79% and Sullinger had a double-double. It will be fun to watch these guys play again tonight. I may not like Sullinger out of principle ( he's a Buckeye), but these two are the class of the B1G, for sure.

Sullinger iss actually a pretty classy guy outside the games and I'm sure he's fine within them. Of course I am rooting for Michigan and Trey but I don't dislike him as much as before simply because of what he said to Trey after the Ann Arbor game and becasue of both of their actions.

On the court in college they are on opposing sides. Off the court they are like brothers. I hope they end up on the same team in the NBA one day.

Also, Satch Sullinger said he would be rooting for Michigan after Jared leaves because of Trey being on the team.

Yes they are our rivals but I do have respect.

Sullinger gained alot of respect from me when I believe it was the Minny fan who created a funny sign ribbing him that was aired on ESPN and he got ahold of the kid via Twitter and asked if he could have it so he could give it to his mom.

Athletes that act like normal people are awesome hence Denards awesomeness.

You do have to recognize class even when it is surrounded by trash. Watch Sullinger during a game and you will see a guy who plays hard, is respectful of his opponent, and has great talent. I counted multiple times he went out of his way to help an opposing player up or congratulated a guy on a nice play last night.

associating Sullinger with the word "class," or anyone from ohio for that matter. He is a formidable post force, and UM better be on top of their game tonight. C'mon JMorgan!

Burke scoring 30 is not necessarily the best way for us to win.  It usually would mean we are shooting poorly and we need him to take more shots.  Would much rather see him score 15 and have five other guys in double figures.  Either way, we have to play better to win today.

I just hope Burke still has some juice left after last night.  It's gotta be tough to play that many minutes and then turn around and play again the following night.

Last night the BTN commentors (which I nominate to be a real word) mentioned that some coaches have been complaining that Craft is allowed to hold, because of his status as a defensive star. I have not noticed that he holds, but if he does, I hope that Trey has enough status now to get even-handed officiating.

Goes both ways.  Have you noticed the scorers (like Burke & THJ) seldom get called for charges but guys like Evan & Morgan (sometimes) seemingly get tagged while sitting at the table waiting to check in?

Your reputation preceeds you in all walks of life.   Good or bad.

The start of the game will tell the story.  We can't afford to get off to the sluggish start that we had against Minn.  Ohio will have it's moments but we have to take away their transition game like we did in A2...or there will be no Muppets today!
