Player perception right now

Submitted by k1400 on November 16th, 2023 at 7:34 PM

How are the players feeling right now?  I hope they know something we don't that makes sense out of the decision.  It's been us against everyone else, we're all gonna fight!  Then we just give up.  Seems like that could take a lot of fight out of you, without a good reason why.

Right now they have to play for each other.  We have to support them however we can.  Loud on November 25.  Slap the Buckeye next to you, if there is one.

Just to recap, from what I noticed at least, he made a thread that was a tantrum telling everyone to calm down and stop having a tantrum and is continuing his tantrum and specifically called out a thread about storming Ono's house (which everyone shouted down) and is now saying no threads should be nuked.

Perceptions or affect? Your post title implies the former, but your post itself asks about the latter. They can perceive something and feel something totally different, and that’s key. If they perceive injustice and feel angry, that may be good. If they perceive injustice and feel hopeless, that’s something else. This will be Sherrone’s job the next two weeks

Yeah - it can’t be a huge confidence boost to go from thinking Harbaugh and program were doing to fight tooth and nail to get the head coach back on game day — just to roll over with no explanation and making the last 5-6 days of bravado look a little foolish.

Seriously. You could spin this just the other way. Harbaugh took the hit to remove the distraction of litigation and media harassment so the team could completely focus on winning the National Championship.

It's only in this echo chamber that people are feeling abandoned. Harbaugh agreed to this as a way to allow the team to put the entire controversy behind them.

The Big Ten didn't accuse Harbaugh of cheating personally, and his accepting the suspension doesn't mean he's accepting that responsibility. It's ok. You don't have to feel offended on his behalf. It's all ok. Take a deep breath.

Next stop: Maryland. Then OSU. Then Iowa. Then FSU. Then Georgia. I like it. :-)

They're probably pissed off. They've played this game all thier lives, so they're accustomed to adversity.  Football teaches you many lessons that can be helpful later in life.

I’m all for supporting the players, but as I said in a now deleted thread- If we lose to OSU (or Maryland) and/or Harbaugh leaves, I’m done. I’m sure it won’t be a popular take, but I feel it’s not worth the time and energy to follow a sport that is run by an organization akin to the WWE and that is actively playing the role of saboteur. So now, winners and losers are blatantly picked off the field of play?
Frankly, it reminds me of the time I stopped watching the NFL. The Lions lost to Dallas in the wildcard, because of egregious, biased reffing since the NFL is in the bag for the boyz. It’s a sad reality that many modern sports being decided by the best players and coaches is but an illusion.

Yeah, that and the same 3 teams getting the majority of the 4 & 5 star players, the same three teams in the playoffs every year and the same two teams winning the championship every year. But, I will enjoy the rest of this season for what’s left.  After this season, Harbaugh leaves, we get nuked and then it’s like what’s the point??  If that goes down, my falls will have a lot more free time!
