Peppers favoring hamstring

Submitted by MichiganMAN47 on
Per The Wolverine on Facebook, Jabrill is favoring his hamstring in warmups and is unlikely to play.

Peppers knows that faking an injury 1 day before a NY6 bowl game would essentially FUCK his team which has been practicing with him as the lynchpin of the defense for a month. There is absolutely ZERO % chance he did this to preserve his draft stock and avoid injury. If he did, then FUCK him, and good riddance.

Which part did you disagree with? I stated there was a 0% chance he did what I was chastising him for. However, in the unlikely event he was holding out for NFL 12 hours prior to a NY6 bowl which we practiced for with him as a key component, then he deserves to be chastised as such. Also, kinda know a little bit about being a member of a team at Michigan - see the sig

How do you feel about these comments after watching Jake Butt go down? You still think this is fun and games for these guys? Good for you that you played soccer at UofM, where you faced almost NONE of the same risks as a football player who was going pro when you were clearly never sniffing a pro soccer team, but fuck you for your haughty attitude.

There is a HUGE difference in manning up and recusing yourself from the game so that your team can prepare adequately in your absence. If you don't want to risk injury - man up and take the flak you get by opting not to risk it. Otherwise, you are doing your team and school a tremendous disservice by having them prepare with you as a vital piece - when you know that you won't be playing. No way around it - That's plain cowardice IF that is in fact what transpired.

but where were the insider poster(s) in knowing about Jabrill's injury? It came out on the edge maybe ~3 hours before the game, but where was the post here?

No offense to Brian or the mods, but just asking? (yeah, yeah, I know free site..., but unless Brian was born really rich, this is how he makes a living, so it can't be too bad).

To everyone who thinks he's faking: what the heck, you love the guy for the whole season and then hate him for the last game? Disappointing. I thought my fellow MGoBloggers were better than that.

If he doesn't come back (which he shouldn't IMO), he's just a blip on michigan's radar. Never beat OSU, played 2 seasons, and never played in a bowl game. Crazy talented and glad he was here, but he was basically the football version of a one and done.

Peppers said after it was Harbaugh's decision to put him in the box during the game so he wasn't a distraction on the sideline. He was tearing up talking about it. All you jerks questioning him are unreal.

He at a minimum should have been on the sideline with the team.  Only reason he would be a distraction that a HQ would want a player separated would be if there was some question just in my own opinion.

Peppers just always seems excited and was fired up the entire bowl game last year on the sidelines....it does bring some questions on why Harbaugh would not want him with the team as a distraction.

You people bashing Peppers are something else. Sure he didn't quite live up to all of the espn hype, but that dude loves his team and tried his best to be his best. He didn't ask to be hyped and talked about like a man amongst boys, that was put on him. All the talk below about him being overrated, or being an easily forgotten player comes from people who don't know what they are talking about. Sometimes I don't know why I read the comments, some people are real assholes...

The whole scene seemed a little too contrived. While I have no doubt Peppers wanted to play, is it possible that he was suspended and the injury was a cover to keep the real reason from becoming a distraction? The film of him shirtlessnin the locker room nursing the hammy seemed odd. And the fact Harbaugh out him in the booth away from his teammates was odd too Not sure what the deal was, but the whole story seemed a little weird is all. And it was devastating for the team because whatever it was that kept him out it was really laye in preparation. FSU was without their All American on D too and was missing more than us, but they knew for weeks they weren't going to have all those guys.

Even though my post below argues the opposite case, I have to agree with you that it was really odd how it played out.  And, the locker rooom pic did seem convenient.  I hope it was all above board and just everyone being pessimistic about it.  I surely hope it was a suspension cover up.  IMO that would be worse than lying about sitting out for the draft.  I'd have to think Harbaugh wouldn't do that though but he is nutso ....

Maybe this is wishful thinking and rose colored glasses...  Everything I've read or heard him say has always been the team, the team, the team.  I don't think he would fake this injury. He's a gamer - he has that ultra-competitive personality trait.  I just don't see him sitting out completely healthy just to protect himself.

Also, he was in the box with the coaches with binoculars - watching and coordinating with the coaches.  I mean they have him do everything - maybe he thought he could help the team with strategy.  Or, they figured it would be "BS" heckling and media attention and he was already heartbroken.  Or they wanted to protect him from getting to worked up celebrating, getting sideswiped on the sidelines, etc... further injuring himself

We'll probably never really know.   Personally, I think he was hurt and he will return.   I think Jake Butt will teach him its about the team - not the other way around.  I bet Jake has ZERO regrets about coming back this year even after the injury.  There are more NJ kids coming in this year.  It would be Peppers team.  A potential Heisman run.  Etc....

There are million$ of reasons to leave, but that NFL money can't replace the team and the best years of your life.   Peppers work here is incomplete.  I think he knows that.  I'm hoping that's enough for him to stay and enjoy his youth and time at college.
