Just came across this, Jabrill Peppers is leaving the New York football Giants and signing a one-year contract with the Pats. The article mentions that Peppers was a team captain with NY, which I didn't know, and that he'd ruptured his ACL in week 6.

I think this will be a really good move for him. The Pats are always doing something right on defense, even if they lack some talent at various positions. Brady covered up a lot of offensive issues, but defensively they've been fundamentally solid forever. I believe they'll find a way to use his athleticism and versatility to a good advantage within their scheme - something Cleveland didn't even try to do by parking him in Lot B at Cedar Point...
And by Cleveland you mean Gregg Williams. That idiot was the mastermind behind having our single most athletic player lined up so fucking far away from the LOS he was basically useless.
Oh, and FWIW the Browns wanted JP back. Strong rumor here that if the Pats had let him leave the building we were ready to make him an offer.

He's playing for the old "go for it on 4th down but really just have the QB pooch punt" but it's actually only second down.
I dunno, some of things Peppers has done to opposing players could be seen as...a-salt.
Two peanuts were walking in a rough part of the city late at night. Unsurprisingly, one of them was a salted.
Reortedly, the peanut was asked by his assailant, “How much cashew got?”

This should be interesting. Coach B has a way of finding spots where players can excel. Pep certainly has physical skills to play multi positions like he did at M.
Note - Just say no to the Pep cat/QB. We saw to much of that and that is one position Pep does not belong at.

This is an interesting pickup for the Pats. All of their linebackers are the big burly types who clog up running lanes but aren't quick enough to do other things. Peppers is obviously the opposite of that. If he ends up playing some sort of hybrid space player role in that defense he could tear things up behind those linebackers and that massive D-Line.

I see this as a low-risk gamble by the Patriots to see if Peppers can work.

Pepper Johnson was good player with Giants, he’ll help that coaching staff.
Amazing scheme fit. Belichick turned Pat Chung into a star and he wasn't half as talented, and worse in man coverage too.
How many pure athletes have we had better than Peppers at UM? Not stats or impact just raw athletic ability?
