Pelini: "F*** you (Nebraska) fans, f*** all of you"
Pretty interesting stuff to say the least. On top of former QB Tommie Frazier bashing Pelini, he went on a little tirade in a presser as reported by Deadspin. There is audio of him saying it in the link.
EDIT: Thanks for the heads up on the mistake. Apparently this was in 2011. Nebraska fans are pissed all over the twitter.

"It took everything in my power to not say, 'Fuck you, fans. Fuck all of you.' Fuck 'em."
"Our crowd. What a bunch of fucking fair-weather fucking—they can all kiss my ass out the fucking door. 'Cause the day is fucking coming now. We'll see what they can do when I'm fucking gone. I'm so fucking pissed off."

It's definitely true. There is clear audio of him saying it.

His next step would have been to hire Greg Robinson as his defensive coordinator, but you know, TEXAS.

The article says it's from the 2011 OSU game, not this past weekend's UCLA game.
But that's really besides the point, because holy shit. Whoa, guy.
September 16th, 2013 at 7:29 PM ^
Didn't Nebraska's 41-21 loss against UCLA say, essentially, "F*#k you Nebraska fans, F*#k all of you!"
Because I'm pretty sure that's what a lot of Nebraska fans heard on Saturday.
September 16th, 2013 at 6:16 PM ^
This isn't from Saturday's UCLA game. It's from 2011 after Nebraska had a second-half rally against Ohio.
September 16th, 2013 at 6:17 PM ^
Our tipster says the recording was made on Oct. 8, 2011, just after Nebraska had come back from three touchdowns down to beat Ohio State in Lincoln.

EDIT: Three posters above beat me to it. Well done.

I will be very surprised if Pelini makes it through the season. Actually, he might not make it to Saturday.

the final nail in the coffin will be the AD issuing a vote of confidence in teh coach
September 16th, 2013 at 6:19 PM ^
I've seen this before...
you don't release that tape today unless you have an agenda and want to bring the program down. period.
September 16th, 2013 at 6:24 PM ^
Are you really trying to compare this to Gary Moeller?
September 16th, 2013 at 6:26 PM ^
No I was loosely comparing it to Rosenberg trying to tear down the program in 2009.
September 16th, 2013 at 6:32 PM ^
Which is comparable... How exactly?
September 16th, 2013 at 6:34 PM ^
The word "agenda" in the persons tweet spiked my interest and memory.
September 16th, 2013 at 6:20 PM ^
Well that escalated....
September 16th, 2013 at 6:22 PM ^
People don't sit on this stuff for 2 years and then "randomly" release it into the air without a major agenda by "insiders". This looks vaguely familiar....

September 16th, 2013 at 6:28 PM ^
... and fire him just before the Michigan game.
September 16th, 2013 at 6:34 PM ^
Why would you want that? Teams often rise to the occasion when their coach gets fired and play with extra emotion.
I'd rather just have him be a dead man walking, but allowed to finish the season.

Yeah, Earl Bruce anyone?

Heck no man... Firing Pelini gives the team extra motivation... Plus, I will be making the trip that weekend, so I'd rather have deflated Nebraska team with Pelini than a motivated team without him.

Craig Bohl out of North Dakota State.
September 16th, 2013 at 7:31 PM ^
Bohl was Nebraska's DC from 2000-02, but his tenure ended badly and he was run out of town. I'm not sure he would want to return.
His replacement was Bo Pelini.
September 16th, 2013 at 6:53 PM ^
Pelini had no connection with Nebraska other than a year as DC, losing that job when Frank Solich lost his. He came to Nebraska from the DC job at LSU. Nebraska is in the top 20 in the country in revenue and spending and that's mostly from when they were in the Big 12; B1G money will boost that much higher. They have a huge and extremely loyal fanbase. I don't see why they can't both afford and attract a very good coach.

September 16th, 2013 at 6:38 PM ^
He thinks highly of himself..As a Youngstown native i will say i am amazed how he is spoken of in these parts..He has not impressed me..And now he acts as if Nebraska is nothing without him...You have done nothing..and your defense stinks every year and yet you are a defensive mind ? id tell him get lost
September 16th, 2013 at 6:38 PM ^
If any potential cannings take place based on performance, then I have to wonder if the Nebraska DC John Papuchis is on a hotter seat than Pelini - I do tend to think Pelini's seat is at least warming, however. Granted, this recording coming out is a lot of things that you really shouldn't say about fans or the people who cover your team ever really, but I do have to wonder if there is a staffing shakeup before they would go after Pelini, even despite this particular revelation.
That being said, I think the recording - even being two years old - inhibits Pelini's longevity at Nebraska definitely, at least to some degree, perhaps even as soon as the end of the year. It definitely brings his desire to be at Nebraska into question, and an employee that demonstrates that sort of disengagement typically means an eventual departure. We'll see what the AD thinks, I suppose.

Things like this make me grateful to have guys like Hoke and Beilein as our coaches.
September 16th, 2013 at 6:52 PM ^
I'm not talking about the state. I'm talking about the team he played for and the fans that set in that stadium. I mean any player that gets a kick out of the cheerleaders doing a Village People imitation spelling out four letters, usually in correct order, has been subjected to high standards as to fandom.
September 16th, 2013 at 7:05 PM ^
I don't know why, but the thought of Beilein doing something like this makes me laugh.
September 16th, 2013 at 7:08 PM ^
I wouldn't be surprised if Hoke thought that for a second or two when the boo birds came out on Saturday. Of course thinking something and actually saying it, particularly in a maniacal fashion, are two different things.
It definitely pissed me off to hear people booing.
September 16th, 2013 at 9:05 PM ^
But it's one thing to have those thoughts in the heat of the moment. It's an entirely different beast to verbalize it after the game when you've had some time to process.
