I am  sure most of us have heard about this but didnt see it posted. Im not sure about Pitts academic requirements but they seem like a MSU level school. Getting a combined 4 seasons out of Collins, Diabate, Houstan, Howard, and Kante is just beyond bad luck. A 1 player class is not the solution to all that attrition. Hopefully we can land a couple players before the season starts.

I just have to complete 25 classes over the summer and they assured me that I would be eligible. Is Rich Rod still going to be my head coach?? I’ve had my nose in the books so long I haven’t been able to keep up with the football team much lol

Juwan's roster management is abysmal and our tepid puddle that is basketball NIL is crippling him further. MBB is going to fall into the dark ages without some major changes.

Good points.  On the other hand....

Do you remember every flower that has withered in your presence? How should you, who has not the beauty of a flower, be different? Do you remember every dead tree with which you’ve crossed paths? How should you, who has not the resilience or span of life as a tree, be different.

How should you be remembered when empires have fallen without a sound, and islands sunk under the ocean to neither cries of sadness or of joy.

You, will be forgotten, like every other.

What though the radiance which was once so bright

Be now for ever taken from my sight,

Though nothing can bring back the hour

Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;

We will grieve not, rather find

 Strength in what remains behind;

 In the primal sympathy

 Which having been must ever be;

 In the soothing thoughts that spring

 Out of human suffering;

 In the faith that looks through death

Don’t mean to flamethrower the gas pile but looks like RayJ Dennis isn’t even considering Michigan as a finalist. Juwan is struggling to even fill the roster at this point. Crazy the tailspin direction this program is headed in where they can’t even get MAC players 40 minutes away to play for them.

I don't have a direct link but I know that Utah paysites are feeling very good about their chances. Supposedly, there is a connection from his time at Boise State to the current Utah coaching/training staff.

The solution to attrition is not recruiting anymore, it's the portal.   You need to have some empty scholarships at all time.   No advantage anymore in filling out your roster with recruits.   If they are good enough for the NBA, they leave.   If they are good but not playing and are impatient with development, they leave.

LOL if you are not a freshman or a graduate transfer who has no chance for the NBA - then UM admissions says fuck you.  So all UM has a chance at are not NBA level 22 year olds or 19 year olds who are willing to give up every credit they have because UM classes >>>> North Carolina classes.  Despite both ranked a top public institutions in the country.  Oh and Illinois has no credits that transfer to UM either.  Arrogance.

I'm sure we won't find out why he wasn't admitted to UM vs. Pitt but I always assumed this was an NCAA Clearinghouse-type situation and not a school-specific one.

I think Juwan deserves blame for certain aspects of the roster construction and how the past couple years have played out but he does seem snakebitten when it comes to admissions in a way that is starting to feel comical.

Yeah, that's my assumption as well.  It would be interesting to know what the differences are because what I've generally understood is that if you pass the NCAA clearinghouse level you're typically good to go at UM though you may have to take some remedial classes to fill in the gaps.

Landing mid level 5 stars and having them for a year, when they still pretty much suck, is not the way to build a team.  A 3rd/4th year 4 star is going to dominate a freshmen 5 star most of the time IMO.

By the time a 5 star is a quality starter, they leave.

I admittedly didn't watch a lot of games the past two years as I mainly watch the B1G tourney and NCAA tourney, but my understanding from reading was that Diabate, Houstan and Howard weren't necessarily quality starters and they still left.

I'm all for people getting paid for their skills but you want people to have those moments where they utterly dominate at the level they are at.  No one will remember Houstan, Diabate or Howard's G-League performances.  Jordan Poole is the obvious counter-argument, but he did have that shot in college and his pro-career is an exception to the rule.

It's not bad luck, it's the reality of modern major college sports, which is now more like tier 2 pro sports.

It's a remarkable combination of not-fun for many fans and not academically valuable for student athletes.

the jury is definitely out still on Howard, but the roster last year should have had Collins, Llewellyn, Dug, Howard, Buffkin, Hunter, Diabate, and probably terrance Shannon. That would have been quite the roster....

Bro if you lose 10 games in the last 30 seconds it's "bad luck"

Also Hunter held the team back last year! Don't forget that when the team averages 52 points a game and the savior Reed has 2 fouls in the first 9 minutes of every game while averaging 21 minutes a games and 8 pts and 3 boards and 4-5 fouls.... and the backup "center" is TWIIIIIIIII.

Not bad luck at all, Juwan had to know he was getting one year from Diabate, Houston, and Howard.  And keep bringing in transfers should have realized Collins would bolt.

If we had Shannon last year, and Love this year, I think Dickinson may have stayed, and we would still be in good spot.
