OTish: Cam Ward opts to go pro

Submitted by lhglrkwg on January 1st, 2024 at 12:22 PM

Cam Ward has opted to go pro rather than transfer to another team. I believe this was OSU's main QB transfer hope for 2024 so now it looks like they're stuck rolling with Devin Brown or Lincoln Kienholz who put up all of 3 points on Mizzou, or true freshman Air Noland.

You hate to see it

11 Warriors has been saying for a bit that Will Howard is the one they’d have the best shot with if they were to get a transfer, but it’s not the most likely outcome.

I really like Gus. My only complaint about him is he is too excitable. A bit too rah-rah for me. He does a great job of balancing and remaining neutral. He would be a phenomenal announcer for radio where he could go nuts for one side. Too bad TV announcers are always meant to be "neutral". Really wish there were home team TV announcers for all my sports and not just Bally Sports Detroit.

Harbaugh really broke their program.  He has achieved everything we wanted. A national title is only gravy.

Knocked back Sparty into irrelevance, and they had hold on state.

Won 3 straight BIG titles.

Columbus is burning.

Hope who reads this, fully appreciates what Harbaugh has done.

I remember having to tell a bunch of people to be patient and stop crying on a daily basis here. I also remember that the entire fanbase at games needed to play their role and have faith AT GAMES.

Not only has the team transformed on the field, but to witness just how fans (especially the students) have really taken to being more resilient and LOUD. It's amaizing to see how fans and the team interact, and how the stadium is filled with people who don't look like they're going to cry at the smallest thing that doesn't go Michigan's way.

Is this why the B1G expansion happened? OSU disappearing from the elite landscape. Need to bring Oregon and Washington in to bring competition to Michigan

Ward was originally rumored to be going to OSU but mostly just bad reporting. The same terrible OSU insider has said Will Howard commited already but they haven't announced it yet...so we shall see.

As an aside, Howard could be a good stop gap if available and JJ goes. Even if just because Buckeyes would self immolate.
