Down to their last strike twice and still tie it up

but, there's no reason the Texas outfield should have been that deep.

When is the last time anybody saw a game like that in a World Series?
October 28th, 2011 at 12:47 AM ^
Best WS game since 1993? 1 strike away from losing it twice(!) and a walk-off homer. Wow.

Go Cards!
Last time the Cards won the World Series, Michigan went to the Rose Bowl. I could go for that again.

It seems some on here spoke too soon. And another subset of this board are, ahem, haters. David Fucking Freese. On to game 7.
Go Cards.

People who think baseball is boring have never watched a game like that.
October 28th, 2011 at 2:16 AM ^
Wow, fantastic game, I'll give them that.
Now let me go lay in the fetal position and cry myself to sleep.
October 28th, 2011 at 3:14 AM ^
since the wildcard I rarely ever feel like I'm watching the two best teams in baseball.
October 28th, 2011 at 11:25 AM ^
You rarely get the two best teams in any of the championship games in sports. The wildcard was great for baseball. It gives teams outside of the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies (biggest spenders) etc. a reason to try.

Norte dame game. Late back and forth in desperate situation. Teams alternate leads and ties. It's the baseball version.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CARDS

$20 says Game 7 is the most lop-sided victory ever. After that great game, anything will suck, but something tells me Game 7 will suck more.
October 28th, 2011 at 9:37 AM ^
Calling it now - Game 7 will be a snoozer, with the Cards pulling ahead early and often.

You hate the Cards because they have been the class of that division for years.
Its understandable, but the best way to change it is to have another team in the NL Central be good for more than one year.
Chicago and Pittsburg have been down for a while. Houston too since the early 2000s.
The Reds had one "good" year when they made the playoffs. Same with Milwaukie.
But until someone else can be as consistent as the Cards, they will continue to be hated by their other division teams.
Oh and I hate the Reds too, but my reason involves Brandon Phillips and a certain pitcher that likes to use his cleats to kick people while in a fight.
