OT: Will Irene result in a new mini baby boom?

Submitted by ChicagoB1GRed on

like the Northeast blackout of '65?

Hope everyone is safe, the EC is getting a double whammy of earthquake and hurricane (how often has THAT happened?) but this could be one of those "silver linings" to the disaster, given that a lot of people's routine will be disrupted, time on their hands....power outages.........man and woman doing what they do best together when all else fails?

Hopefully not.  There's 6 billion + of us walking around.  And that's too many.  Way too many.

I like the topic.

Don't care much for your conclusion though.  But, hell, I'll upvote because you're getting downvoted like fuck.  My upvote won't do anything for you though.

WTF.  You are attempting to draw a connection with something that happened in 1965.  Most here were not alive and/or don't give a shit.  They don't care about any "connection."  And there's no reason they should.

You make a claim about the silver lining of this hurricane (hurriquake?) being more human beings walking this planet. . . .

I don't think you're an idiot, but your posts makes you look like one.  Think.

I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.

It was incredibly weak.  I went for a couple of walks, did some gardening.  The power flickered once . . . Closer to OBX and the Sound it was a little more serious but still nothing crazy.  I have to drive out there tomorrow to see if anything happened to the cottage but I'm not anticipating anything.

Went out to a bar to watch the Lions/Pats, but the local stations here were all covering Irene and it was unavailable on DirectTV as well.  Of course my hyper-inflated sports fandom accredited the overblown coverage to a shameless page hits and TV ratings grab.  While I'm sure that there was some damage, they had the news guys standing at the edge of the Atlantic talking about the storm.

What really smacked of hypocrisy though, was the fact that they were talking about the people who were out in the storm as if they were idiots.  One "on the scene" guy actually called a group of people idiots, even though they were in a car, and he was out in the open.  All they were doing was sitting in their vehicle.  This hurricane was a huge media event only for the fact that it was going to hit the 85/95 corridor.

I think I'm ranting now so I'll stop.

Pretty sure the silver lining is that the east coast gets pounded.

Hoping no one gets hurt... but seriously fuck the east coast. (is there an acronym to infer comedic intent?)

EDIT: not working, fuck it, however I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.

Although a lot of magic happens here, if Omameh reads this site I'm sure he'd agree, I only contribute a little to it.  My biggest contribution would be if I could create a time machine to take us to next Saturday. Until then I'll continue to post my bad photoshops and internet pictures to please the MGoCommunity, while contributing very little useful information that is mostly opinion based.

I would just like to point out that this dude's obviously a Nebraska fan, which means at some point he has lived in Nebraska.  I know from my own experience from living in Nebraska that often times on a Saturday night all their is to do is imagine other people having sex.

I recently upgraded to HD and after seeing Leslie VIsser tonight on the Lions broadcast have gotten my share of birth control for the next couple weeks.  Here's hoping that Erin Andrews in A2 looks much better under the HD lense or I am going to ask Directv for my money back.
