OT: Off week activities

Submitted by Hokemaniac on
Since there is no game this week what are everyone's plans?
My action looks like this the rest of the week:
Drink the rest of the week until no brain cells left to remember the MSU game.

Turn on the Sparty vs Wisconsin game

Regain faith in humanity when Wisconsin destroys Sparty.

Chores around the house for the MgoGirlfriend

I have an interview (via webcam, strangely) today.  There is a chance I could end up in Ole Miss country.  Anyone else from around Oxford?  Would definitely need to make some MGoFriends.

Anyway, that and meeting with recruiters has me pretty much tied up for the week, followed by a cousin's birthday and then a wedding this weekend.  Should keep me busy enough.

1. beautiful college women.

2. Frat boys and Frat boy look-a-likes...complete with sunglasses (with croakies), poloshirts and red solo cups.

3. The stadium is small, but can get kinda loud.  I saw Ely Maning beat up on Alabama a few years ago, they get excited.

4. Ole Miss is a beautiful campus, but thats about it.

1. Mississippi is a horrible state in general (and I am from Alabama).  Its hot, ugly and nothing economically going for it really.

2. Oxford is a preppy frat boy college town, nothing more.  I like more of a larger progressive city (Alabama... i know i know), Oxford is not like this.

3. The campus and parts of the city are "pretty" but thats really about it.  Its a Southern City, so it is controlled by the Good Ole Boy mentailty, which specifically has deep roots in Oxford.

4. The closest city of anything resembling progression is probably Memphis, which could be a good or bad thing.

Like I said, its subjective, and it depends on what kind of person you are.  But know that most good opportunities (overall) are where the most people are.  Most good companies are in bigger cities, smartest people are in bigger cities - all these factors equate to the best opportunities.

Saturday was kind of a bust for both justingoblue and megangoblue, so tonight I will be buying her favorite wine, picking her up from class with yet to be determined takeout and spending the rest of the night drinking and listening to music.

Maybe going out to the country this weekend to a friends parents gigantic spread.

Edit: Friday going to the Oaks Christian v. Thousand Oaks game to see Jordan Payton in person. Hopefully I can provide a decent write-up with possibly some pics/videos to boot.

Well I'll probably watch the Wiscy vs. MSU game and hopefully enjoy that. Otherwise finish setting up the halloween decor outside the house.

Then Tuesday, BF3.

Celebrating wifeday in a very true sense by registering for baby showers (first mgobaby due in January).  Not really looking foward to that part of the day, but at least the day starts with breakfast.

sleep now. if you're a golfer, go play even if its 50 degrees outside. If you're a drinker, have a couple more nights of unfettered debauchery. You will soon find out that hangovers make dealing with a crying, colic-y, poopy baby all day long even less enjoyable.

Don't get me wrong, its fantastic and I wouldn't trade a minute of it, but there are definitely trade-offs. I haven't even picked up a golf club since July. On the other hand, I'm the 2011 "Diaper in the Dark" champion

with my lovely wifey.  She chose the bye weekend last year for our big day, and we get another one this year to celebrate our year together.

Since my two fave teams (UM & Patriots) both have bye weeks, I am getting off the couch and playing Fall golf both Saturday and Sunday.  Go Badgers, crush those Sparties. . . .FORE!

GO BLUE!

Have to win to make the state playoffs and win the conference title outright (weird, but that's what happens when you lose both nonconference games and the conference is full of 2-conference-loss teams)

Senior night, band's light show at half, and HATE HATE HATE

Clean up the yard and then settle in with a glass of 18 year old Glenfiddich and a good cigar to watch Wisconsin put MSU back into a numerical tie for the Legends division lead with us and Nebraska.

Well, first off I'm going to sail my 1,000-foot yacht down to my private island in the Bahamas. I'll probably do some SCUBA diving, maybe a little snorkeling. I try to limit my exposure to the sun though, it's really not good for your skin in the long term. After that, I'll probably fly my helicopter, taking off from my yacht, of course, around to see some of the sights. After I've gotten tired of seeing sparkling blue-green waters and white-sand beaches, I'll probably fly my Raytheon Premier 1 jet over to Cancun to stay at my beach house there (it's really more of a mansion than a house; and really more of a castle than a mansion). I'll drive around in my brand new (red) Ferrari 458 Italia a little bit. It's really a pretty mediocre car, if you ask me, but I suppose it gets the job done. Some yuppy will inevitably want to race me though, and I'll oblige his wishes by wooping his butt. I'll probably write him a check for $10,000 just for trying. I do my best to be charitable. After a night out on the town, in which I modestly boast to some very important people about my vast riches (after all, who doesn't like to hear about how a grossly rich man has made his fortune?), I'll probably go back to my house-mansion-castle and try to catch a few Zs. Yes, that's right. Even the most privileged of us in this world must sleep every now and then.

By that time, it will probably be Sunday and I'll have to begin my journey home. To Greenland, that is. I'll begin by flying back to my private island in the Bahamas, then sailing back to my exclusive yacht club somewhere along the New England coast. From there, I'll take my private submarine (did I mention I own a submarine? I do. You wouldn't believe how many times it's been very beneficial to own my own submarine. If you ever get a chance to buy one (and have a spare million just lying around somewhere), do it! You'll never regret it!) back here. The place I call home. Greenland.

What are the rest of you planning?

Louisville vs. Rutgers game at Pizza Stadium on Friday night.  Will be my first Cards game since moving to the beautiful state of Kentucky.  They serve beer at their stadium, so I'm really excited about it.
