I'm curious to why they named themselves the Mineral King.
Was there more than one Mineral King? All the minerals get kings?

In the words of the great philosopher Bruce Springsteen, all men want to be rich, rich men want to be mineral king, and mineral king ain’t satisfied until he rules everything
Mineral King ain’t satisfied until he birdies the 10th at Augusta.

Has to be a big banana fan… some would say a king banana but that’s a silly name and potassium is seen as a funny name by some, Mineral King is the really the best way to express being a banana fanatic.

The mineral king was Shea Patterson's mgoblog avatar.
It definitely wasn't, but people here seem to be convinced.

Hopefully Shea got an arm transplant.
Might improve his swing.

Here in Kansas they stock a bunch of ponds and streams with trout, beginning in November, for a winter season-where you need a trout stamp to fish for them. Today the "unlimited" trout season opens-don't need a special stamp. It has been an unseasonably cool Spring so they should be okay to eat-should be very active feeders. The grandsons don't have school on Monday-sounds like a good, fun activity.

Are the ponds fed by a mineral spring?
fun. trout opener here is always the last saturday in april.
speaking of unseasonably cold, this is the coldest spring i ever remember below the bridge. today is 30, normal high 55. with a few periscopes up to normal or beyond, it has been months like this. same with last year - couldn't plant corn until the end of may b/c the ground was so cold.

Nice enough pass:
Who knew USFL had a preseason?
Best unis in all of professional football too.

On the run, too! 50/50 pass, but it’s a TD none the less.
More of those to Nico please….oh well.
I can’t claim to understand football at the level of many here. Seems to me Shea bailed on a clean pocket and severely under threw the open receiver.
I bet Cade makes that play much more accurately right now.

stig, no doubt the panthers uniforms were/are great, but i'm sorry, these are the finest uni's in pro football
Love the Lions whites.
I rolled with a Lions helmet in Rocket Football as a kid. My buddy on our rivals grade school team sported a Green Bay helmet. 2nd grade through 6th.
We usual won over the years until we all joined up on the same team in 7th grade moving forward. Those rivalries made for a pretty tight knit crew through High School.
Barry is the best player in the history of the NFL period.
same with Woodson, but in college

Ha! I fondly remember those Mineral King days on the board. Good luck to Shea. I hope he makes it work for himself.

Maybe it's just me, but I remember "Mineral King" as a huge dipshit on this board.
As I recall, he did come across as such now and again, although he usually framed it as a defense of certain things regarding the program (at least as it was when he was actively posting). Either it really was Shea or it was one of those accounts that we always seem to get that is so deliberate in its point of view - either real or contrived - that it was meant to create such speculation. We may never know for certain.
Since Brian and Seth of access to user accounts did you ever ask them if they thought it was Shea? You guys must have a slack, right?
If it was Shea (and I’m highly confident it was not) I suspect we would have known because Ace Anbender would have said something. I recall Ace was aware of the email addresses of at least a few users.
Will there be a thread for the game tomorrow? I’m actually looking forward to seeing what this team does. I feel like I’m walking through the 80’s again. Someone stop this ride when the rat tails come back though.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but Deveon Smith was cut by the Pittsburgh Maulers for supposedly disrespecting the cafeteria staff.
