When a player is so short that after hours of playing on the ice he gets frostbite on his man parts.

At work for another half hour or so. Game will be well over by the time I get back.
But, I don't expect St. Vincent to offer up much of a challenge being down 2-0 as it stands.
Edit: Make that 3-0.

for the link. caught the last goal, 6-0.

Bobby Wood with a fantastic curler puts @ussoccer ahead 0-1. #Russia2018 https://t.co/flJKvGaNjm

Post the other two yet?
September 2nd, 2016 at 4:25 PM ^
Are they playing at a high school?
September 2nd, 2016 at 4:32 PM ^
Not even maybe. The reason they are playing the game so early is that the field doesn't have flood lights.
September 2nd, 2016 at 4:22 PM ^
GOOOOAAAALL!@MattBesler half volleys @ussoccer to a 0-2 lead. #Russia2018 https://t.co/2WPEvlTFxx

I didn't know Bill Murray even played soccer. Is Melissa McCarthey on his team?
September 2nd, 2016 at 4:24 PM ^
St. Vincent are total scrubs...pretty sad.

The minnows in CONCACAF are the minnowest.
September 2nd, 2016 at 5:00 PM ^
I'd love to have a single confederation for the Americas. The level of competition in CONCACAF overall just isn't enough.

Teams in the top 25 vs lower ranked teams in college football is not all that massive. You see the underdogs give battles all the time to top 25.
The difference between say the 25th ranked FIFA team and the 75th ranked team is laughably wide.

Their population is smaller than Ann Arbor's. Not the county, just Ann Arbor. They aren't rich like Iceland either.
September 2nd, 2016 at 5:01 PM ^
Iceland even is three times their size.

A lot slimmer. Maybe it's just me.
That penalty is everything that reminds me of Matt Stafford. He's got such a great leg, and he holds up play really well. But darn it, he just has never been able to put it together.
September 2nd, 2016 at 4:30 PM ^
He kinda does. Maybe he will stop having all these soft tissue injuries.
It was all down hill when he came back to the MLS. His work rate was never really great, but it was terrible after he came back to the MLS.

Great pass by Kjlestan (sp?) to Pulisic for a nice goal
September 2nd, 2016 at 5:19 PM ^
I'm a Red Bulls fan so I was pretty mad when Kljestan wasn't called in initially. Glad he's proven the MLS zealots right.
What's weird to me is how frequently Klinny subs on late call-ups. If you think they might play, why not just call them the first time around?
September 2nd, 2016 at 5:27 PM ^
Pulisic just got another at the end...very nice
September 2nd, 2016 at 5:34 PM ^
I was kidding myself thinking, Dortmund didnt sell him to Liverpool b/c Dortmund is expecting that in 2 yrs they will sell him to City or Real or Bayern for BIG bucks. But maybe thats not all that insane.
And I wonder if one calculus for teams will be -- if you get Pulisic, you get a huge US market with him -- its like free advertising in the US. Bumps up your jersey sales in the US, etc. Most European or So American players dont bring those financials (With a few exceptions-- Leo, CR7 etc). Pulisic is not talent-wise like that level of player, but being the best American player will shower a team with extra income bc the US has no other marquis player on that level. Yet. (Maybe Wood is heading that way.)

The "First Great American Outfield Player" hot take has been fired off several times in the last decade and turned out cominally wrong. See, e.g., Freddy Adu, Jozy Altidore. But you're right, this time it feels like the real deal.
September 2nd, 2016 at 5:57 PM ^
So let's not have fun with the conversation then guys. No one will ever be the next great player. They all suck.
September 2nd, 2016 at 6:01 PM ^
I'm leaning towards agreeing with you on Pulisic after just a few glimpses of him. There is some sort of "it" factor he has.
