I too am interested! I've spent a great deal of time in Almaty and was also surprised to see this post. In fact, the only reason I created a username here was to post a few times when I was abroad. Fun fact, the Kazakhs also know MSU. I saw some very cool turquoise colored MSU crest sweatshirts with an obvious misprint I can't recall at the moment. Perhaps I can dig up the picture I took.

Truly a world brand indeed. One of my favorite features in the alumni association magazine is always people with the flag or wearing Michigan gear in more exotic or remote locations on the planet, just to show that we're everywhere.

My college roommate and I were biking around Germany in the summer of ‘80  and he found a Michigan University pencil case in a random store.  He used it every day his last two years in Engineering.

Last May I went to Paris for a bit. I was sitting at a cafe beside the Orsay Museum with my lady friend, wearing my Block M hat, when I hear a French accented "Go Blue!" I turned to see a young French dude say, "Hey, Michigan. My father went," and points to his father, who was quite old. Nice moment on a great trip.

I love seeing mangled college hats and attire while traveling.  Saw some pink and blue Michigan University garb in Argentina a few years ago.  I wear a Michigan hat and hear "Go Blue" pretty much everywhere we go.
