Sparty upset up by the Georgetown Hoyas at Madison Square Garden 64-60. This is coming after a 5 game losing streak for the Hoyas.

Sparty are such assholes, they been squeken by teams in the big ten even when they were healthy, and now that the game doesn't matter they loose.

Yea Hoyas! And they are terrible lol. Who cares about the conference now? We take care of business we shouldn't care if other teams win.

#6 Kansas 69
#25 Texas 81

#7 Michigan State 60
Georgetown 64

Baylor 76
#8 Oklahoma State 70

We're at #10 right now.  Not that it matters all that much, but if we beat Indiana tomorrow, we're likely to climb quite a bit in the AP poll.

Yes and no.  While our ranking doesn't matter, these are the types of teams that we'll be up against for tournament seeds in a few weeks.  It's good to see them lose because it makes our resumes stronger than theirs, comparatively (though I guess it's debatable whether we wanted Texas or Kansas to win).

The conference strength thing seems overstated to me. Kentucky plays in a terrible basketball conference and they don't have any prestige issues. Same with teams like Wichita State. As long as Michigan wins, it will all work out just fine.

This. Is bad for us. Coupled with Minnesota's loss to NW and Wisconsin's continued slide, will we still even have a Top 25 win away from home?

At this point, does it matter? The rest of the Big Ten is showing us how easily beatable they are on any given day, even on their home court. I'm now 100% convinced that there's no reason why we shouldn't bulldoze our way through the rest of Big Ten play and then the B1G tourney. Barring an utter collapes, we should have a very nice seed in the NCAA tourney once its all said and done.

Remember, MSU was playing with Keith Appling's one functioning index finger on his left hand, Gary Harris's desicated remains due to over exertion, and 12 walk-ons, while Georgetown was rolling witha Space Jam-style lineup Ewing, Mourning, AND Mutombo in the front-court, Iverson and Sleepy Floyd in the backcourt, and Roy Hibbert off the bench.

i knew they were in trouble when izzo mentioned his pre game porage was too hot...

waaaay too much "this is bad for michigan". a loss for sparty is good for michigan. seeding is a big deal, but last year we were fine as a 4 seed, and we're at least on pace for that. no one knows how it willl shake out, but we do know sparty just lost to a mediocre team.

enjoy it, forgodssake.

I don't think this matters that much in the grand scheme of things; the narrative is that MSU is down two major pieces, and it was a close loss.  Maybe if they continue to drop games it will matter, but this squad has some nice scalps that aren't going to be diminished as the year progresses, and if anything this may highlight how strong UM's win was given it was on the road.

And our seeding will take care of itself. I expect Sparty to get healthy and tuned up and be a tough team to beat come March. They almost always are. Seems unlikely the b10 has six tourney teams the way things are now, but that could change quickly. I can see us having only 4. Nice to see Sparty spart on the national stage, though!

Anyone who doesn't relish the pure joy of Sparty losing because they're worried about SOS's and RPI's has really lost a lot of what being a college sports fan is about.

I am so damned sick of the conference kumbaya crap. I will always love Ohio or little bro' losing at anything unless there  is some very direct and significant benefit to us in their winning. And even then there  will be mixed emotions.

might want to consider MSU's unis. The truth is that the simple act of constantly rearranging these things tends to yield more crap than goodness. Many of the same factories pumping the shit out, a lot of the same materials in use, a lot of the same child labor putting the stripes on and the swooshes. Still, if you're absolutely determined to salute one flag instead of the other every time it's run up the pole. . .
