OT: Rob Pelinka Needs an Email Refresher Course
Rob Pelinka mistakenly copied Magic Johnson on a bunch of emails that were critical of Magic Johnson. OOPS! LINK.
I realize he went to school here right before the Internet became a thing, but maybe he could have used a couple more computer classes at U-M.
Before I get too judgmental: Not all of us have mistakenly copied Magic Johnson on emails that were critical of Magic Johnson, but I'm sure most of us have done something similar. I've sent inappropriate texts to normal people that were meant to go to my inappropriate friends.
Could it actually be Magic's fault? He may have given Pelinka's email a bit of AIDS.

I’m totally fine with aids jokes or any other kind of joke as long as it’s funny. But that was not funny at all. Not because of the topic but because of the terrible structure of the attempted joke.
Literally all you had to do is suggest that Pelinka's computer might have gotten some kind of virus from Magic's. Same concept but more subtle and more funny
It was a bad joke. Not a big deal. It was a virus joke, so I simply went with AIDS. Didn't put any thought into it and I don't really care.
I guess I could have said Magic installed a Highly Intrusive Virus on Pelinka's computer, but I'm not concerned about the optics of making fun of a guy who cheated on his wife so many times that he got HIV.
We should all care as much about irresponsible behavior that takes a life.

College coxswain (rowing) skipped a 2-a-day practice shortly before our national championships to go party with her boyfriend. I was pissed and meant to text a teammate about it and I instead put her name as the recipient. Luckily all I said was "You'll never guess the shit (insert coxswain's name) pulled this time."
In my defense, I had just erged a test piece and was barely coherent. I would guess that wasn't the case for Pelinka.
Our IM app back in the day had tabs... just like a browser's tabs.
There was a psycho on the floor who we nick named "cube vampire" because when she came by your desk, she sucked the life out of you.
One day cube vampire was droning on about something and my buddy IMs me and asks what's going on.
Well, I had the wrong tab highlighted in the IM app and instead of replying to my buddy, I accidentally sent "I have no idea who that crazy b*tch thinks she is, she's not a manager or anything, or what the f*ck she is talking about, and I wish she'd just leave me the f*ck alone" to her!!!!!

Exactly. Has nobody seen Curb Your Enthusiasm? This is simply a variant of the "accidental text on purpose". Pelinka has evolved it to the "accidental cc on purpose".

Maybe this was Pelinka flexing with an unintentional intentional power move.
Not saying he didn't make a mistake somewhere, but the article makes it sound like Jeanie included Magic on the emails and Rob was just responding back to her. I'm not sure how Rob would know if Magic was BCCd on them. I don't think he can reply and include Magic if he was BCCd though, so I don't know.
If he was only CCd, then clearly Rob would see that, which would make it seem pretty bone-headed all around.

If someone is BCCed on an email, they won’t get replies to the email, since the BCC info is not passed on to other recipients (visibly or invisibly).
My best guess from the article is that the mistake was actually Jeanie’s. My guess is she CCed or BCCed Magic in the response to Rob’s emails. Magic then gets her email, but also the full email conversation that led up to it, and sees Rob’s emails that way.
Lakers are such a clustercuss. Pelinka needs to just go back to being an agent. And they need to be run as a normal NBA franchise, not some family donut shop
I don’t think it was much of secret that Pelinka didn’t like Magic and the effort Magic was putting in. He used to walk around the practice facility jokingly asking if anybody had seen Magic.
The worst I've ever done was shortly after I got married. I took my cell phone (back in the flip phone days), highlighted my wife Tracy's name in the address book, and called. When I heard her say "hello," I started speaking very affectionately about how much I loved her, how great it was to be married to her, how I was looking forward to coming home and...

Being totally honest, Magic did a pretty fucking shitty job being in charge of basketball operations for the Lakers this year.
I bet this was Pelinka's passive aggressive way of giving him the hint that he isn't welcome anymore.
