I mean, people play on that field and end up on the turf a lot. Im sure they dont want to be tackled into the charred remains of your decrepit old body

I love the fact that some people walked out of there with ash all over their legs wondering WTF happened.  I can see somebody dumping them in the middle of the sea of fans post victory.

I dont think it's that strange at all.  I'm sure that happens way more frequently than we know, it's just ashes and not identifiable human remains like these were so we never really know.

I could be wrong or misremembering this, but I thought there were some stories perhaps 5 or 6 years ago where LSU, Florida and perhaps a few other schools will actually allow people to have their remains scattered on the field or even have a brief service inside the stadium. It seems more than a little morbid to me, but apparently there are more than a few people that are this devoted to the program for which they cheer.

Is it too much to ask for fans of Michigan sports to get the lyrics to The Victors correct?  I heard "champions of the west" were "leaders and best" is supposed to go and a whole lot of tailing off at the end along with a "champions of the world".  It isn't a difficult song.  I cringe every time I hear general fans sing it because I know about 70% of the time it's going to get botched.

In the early 1990s Ron Kramer spread Bennie Oosterbaan's ashes all over the UM campus, including some on the field of Michigan Stadium, at Yost (where he played basketball) and at Fischer Stadium.
