Although I'm sure that some companies would love sponsoring whiteout games for them - maybe shaving cream or cool whip?

As someone who probably agrees with you wholeheartedly about the current state of our government, I need this to register.

Shut up.

You're not winning any hearts and minds by throwing this out there so tastelessly and needlessly.  Wrong forum, wrong approach.  If you feel as strongly as me about where things are, you should reflect on whether you're making things better or worse.

The real joke is that companies believe plastering their name on a stadium or a uniform for tens of millions of dollars (instead of several billboards for a fraction of the price) will bring any additional success to their business.

I'm going to pass on details.  Sorry.

I'll leave my original post, as it's high-level, doesn't reveal anything not on my company's public blog, and will slip down the message board soon anyway.  But I know doxing and real-life harassment (PSU boards from 2012-2015).  That has passed, but there's always a non-0% chance those folks could find me (and shared details) here.

I suppose that's also a PSA: be cautious everyone.

You are correct that companies get to deduct advertising expenses, however that does not mean that taxpayers are paying for the naming rights.  Regardless of the tax expense, the shareholders of the company are the ones that ultimately pay for the naming rights.  But whatever, I hate to let facts get in the way of you story.

In reality, companies get name exposure to the greater US population. Take a company like Comerica, not well-known outside of the Midwest Texas and possibly Florida, but through the name Comerica Park it’s argued that their corporate identity is known throughout the United States now which may or may not imply additional value to the corporation. Little Caesars Arena, same thing, adds to the credibility of a Little Caesars outlet in Tempe Arizona where the public may not have a clue how big a place or operation Little Caesars has. I’m not able to quantify it, but I’m sure there is value in having your name out there, especially for a regional or smaller company.

I read somewhere that PED Oil Corp is one of the companies bidding for the stadium naming rights.  OK I will show myself out now.

I'm sure tons will disagree with me.

But hypothetically speaking, if selling stadium rights means we can retain or hire top coaches, I don't mind.

If we already have enough money for that, then yeah don't sell the rights.

Please, for the love of god please, let Summer’s Eve sponsor the stadium. Summer’s Eve Beaver Stadium....cause we all know how much of a douche Franklin is.
