I could see dropping rutgers and maryland, but nebraska seems to fit in just fine. No conference champ game? Why? So the winner of the big ten can get left out of the playoff? Also, the conference would never give up the money and exposure that goes along with the ccg.

I'd like to see all conference title games eliminated. College football should be played on campuses, not in NFL domed stadiums. If two or three teams tie for the title, so what? Good for them. And especially now, when we have a two-round playoff, and probably eventually a three-round one, the NCAA may want to think about how long the season should be.

You've pretty much guaranteed neither is getting into the playoff. Having one clear champion is incredibly important in the playoff era. Just ask Baylor and TCU.
I get people not like games at NFL stadiums, but the Pac 12 had to dump on campus conference title game because it completely bombed at selling tickets. You can't sell tickets to a big event in one week, and having title games on campuses forces you to do that because you don't know the location until the end of the year. You've got to have a site picked out before the season starts so you can sell some tickets before hand. And honestly, bowl games have been at pro stadiums for decades, so what's the difference?

If ALL conference title games are eliminated, then everyone's in the same boat in that regard. The selection committee is there to sift through everything.

You just asked for a disaster to happen. The playoff committee are a definite improvement over the pollsters and the neutered BCS computer, but Lord help you're gonna trust them to sort all this out without conference champions as an easy cut off?
And you can't do anything like that anyway. The NCAA isn't going to make that kind of decision and over rule what the power conferences want to do. So you'd have to convince all these other conferences its in their best interest to dump a thing that makes them money, and good luck man.

Just drop the one or both of the new Eastern anchors with no fans and pick up Oklahoma. They want to leave the Big 12 anyway and that gives the Big 10 the Nebraska-Sooners rivalry and a big time Western division team to balance the sides out.

I have no idea why you would want to get rid of them. It also is not a good idea to have no conference title game in the playoff era.

Just for fun and my two cents:
Hoke will get hired. I don't see UVA, UGA, Maryland, Tulane, Miami, or Rutgers for him. I'm thinking he has a good shot at Toledo, North Texas, UCF, or ULM
Lane Kiffin will be offered at somepoint (Rutgers lol)
With these many openings, I will be very surprised to see Durkin back at Michigan next season. As soon as I saw UGA, I could seriously see him going there. UVA is a possibility too.

I could be wrong, but it seems like this year has the fastest and most crowded coaching carousel in quite a while. I do wonder what direction Rutgers will go in now though - I imagine there's someone up-and-coming that would take them on, or indeed someone looking for a shot at potential redemption. Speaking of that, I wonder how many coaches that we haven't heard from in a while end up with jobs this time around. I have to assume at least a few.

Looking at you Rutgers, Syracuse, and UVA. Just not enough qualified candidates to go around

PJ Fleck to Rutgers, maybe? I've never seen this many openings, especially big name openings.
