Kudos to the nine year old Asian kid who assembled these.
I think we can all agree that if child labor is what it takes for shoe and t-shirt royalties to financially benefit the Athletic Department and our University Community in our quest to be the Greatest University on Earth (and more importantly beat the Buckeyes), it will all have been worth it.
We can also commission a little statue or something out of appreciation.
Nah, it’s an adult Uighur who voluntarily entered the CCP’s benevolent re-education/sterilization program
Now that's hyperbole. You haven't spent much time in Asian manufacturing facilities that produce for "most" top US companies. They may look young but a lot of effort goes into ensuring age requirements are aligned with developed countries.
Found the Nike project manager.
Nope.
Pony Conqueror?
I don’t know what this means, but welcome back, WD.
DISCUSS
Man?
Just gotta stir that pot, eh?
Yep.
I'm an equal-opportunity instigator.
I think this is one of his many burner accounts.
This dude has been on here 12 yrs, I don't think that's WD.
Not sure who WD is or why somebody thinks this is a burner account, but enjoying the speculation
You joined in 2009 and don't know the Wolverine Devotee??!!
Here's a PosBang thread from 2014 to get started: https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/wolverine-devotee-appreciationposbang-thread
Like a number of former posters, he's no longer with us,
Keep them guessing, Charlie, keep them guessing.
Before I peeped the joined date I absolutely thought this was a WD post.
The long con. WD would have been mid-teens 12 years ago. What teenager doesn’t want as many accounts as possible. Charlie Bucket is a clear reference to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If you have been around long enough to remember when WD would post pics of his teen-self at games, he was as skinny as Charlie Bucket. It’s plausible.
LOL, RollDamTIIIIIIIIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Makes sense - sees himself as the logical successor to Brian’s Wonka and the Blog is the chocolate factory.
WD is on the M Reddit board now, FWIW.
That sub is a complete shitshow. Even more toxic than this place gets about covid or football coaching by way of comparison.
Some user with "Chief" in their name makes HisDudeness look like stephenrjking.
Nope, this is not a hobby I indulge in.
I love the colorway but I just cant make high tops work as lows with the dunks or Jordan 1's. Feels a little boat shoe-y for my tastes
Unlike you, I just can't make high tops work. Like, at all.
Of all the draws I've entered. I wanted these so bad..
Right there with you. I've got so many SNKRs L's, was shocked to get these.
WTF is a SNKR L? Is that like a kind of shoe or something? Sorry, I'm just too old.
Same, I legitimately have no idea what they are talking about.
My best guess is there are limited lines of Nike's that are valuable and rare enough to require drawings to be able to buy?
Now I could be completely wrong as I’m nearing 30. But I think this guy is saying he successfully purchased these sneakers before they were sold out. Therefore getting a sneaker w or win. A SNKR L or however he was spelling it would imply he tried purchasing the sneakers but they were sold out. Thus he “took an l” or a loss. He lost out on purchasing the sneakers. This is how I’m interpreting what he’s saying. So basically he had success purchasing these somewhat rare sneakers, but he has missed out on some before.
WD, you resemble Charlie Bucket very well. But, it's a weird flex.
Get rid of the white part and make them a little more sleek/low profile and yeah, maybe.
Jeez even the whites on shoes are getting canceled?
/s
settle down its a damn joke
Man, I had the original high top Maize Dunks back in the 6th grade. Cool looking but no real technology. Then the Nike Air Revolution came out and totally changed what comfortable basketball shoes meant.
The Jordan III was right there too, and definitely more impactful, but for me I’ve never worn a more comfortable pair of hoops shoes than the Air Revolutions.
My HS hoops team wore these in Blue and White in 1987. No joke.
My ‘79 junior high team wore Chuck Taylors. Except me... My parents were the only ones willing to spend $30 for a pair of leather shoes from some weird new company called Nike.
WD, is that you???
I have no idea what OP is talking about.
What exactly is going on in the pic?
What the fuck is SNKRS W?
What are Michigan Dunks (I assume the model of the Nike shoes in the photo)?
I agree with you. I have no idea. And because I understood none of that, I think that officially makes me "old".
Just hire a college grad and when you learn to translate their emails life gets easier.
For example, I got this in email the other day "sus sth".
I asked them what is that? They said "suspect something".
That's what communication passes for these days. Duh.
I’m pretty sure the post was written in english but I’ll be damned if I have any idea what it says
SNKRS is Nike's app where they release in-demand shoes. Users can join a drop for shoes they want to buy, if you win the drop you're allowed to buy the shoe at the retail price. The shoes on SNKRS are very limited in quantity, so you catch many more Ls than you do Ws. I'm about 3 for my last 50.
"I'm about 3 for my last 50."
You're Miggy?
Oooooh. I'm not that into sneakers. Are these collectors items? Can you resell for higher than MSRP? I guess it might make sense from that perspective for the average joe, although I assume most who sign up for these things are real sneakerheads.
They’re currently trading on eBay for $200-225.
So it's a contest in which, if you win, you get to pay full retail price for a pair of shoes. There is no pair of shoes I have ever wanted enough to participate in such an event. Now get off my lawn!
Ok, but why?
I’m guessing people want them.
