OT: Morrissey to hang up the depression and self-loathing

A serious blow to those of us who know what "The Queen is Dead," "Louder Than Bombs" and "Viva Hate" are. Of course, it comes with the obligatory obscure political reference.
I know, I know. It's serious . . . .
Sorry to hear about your girlfriend.
Doubt it. Better whisper your last goodbyes.
Did you say you had a girlfriend in Tacoma?
I think it's time. He was starting to become too much. He wanted security to make sure fans weren't smuggling meat into his shows. That said, my condolences to Brian.
I like my music like I like my coffee and my women: dark and bitter.
My coffee is usually cold and overcooked. Sadly, just like my women.
I keep mine ground up and in the freezer.
As Anthony said to Cleopatra
As he opened a crate of ale :
Oh, I say
Some girls are bigger than others
Some girls are bigger than others
Some girl's mothers are bigger than
Other girl's mothers
I've never thought Morrissey was self-loathing. Quite the opposite, actually.
he loves himself and hates everyone else
"Me without clothes, well a nation turns its back and gags . . ."
I haven't heard that song since I was 17 years old. I'm 40. Late Night, Maudlin Street. Didn't even have to google that shit.
My favorites will always be Suedehead and EDILS for his solo stuff. I can't pick a favorite out of the Smiths. I had the entire discography on vinyl. Good times.
Those are both good, but I think Interesting Drug was the first one I heard post-Smiths. It was like I was reborn after Rank's, well, rankness.
and what years did he play...?
He was a linebacker in the mid-90s and later played for the Colts. He must have done that music thing while in high school. He sure was a lot smaller back then.
The one concert I could have seen and missed is was The Smith's Queen Is Dead Tour (why, why, why did I miss that show at Pine Knob??). I am sure there was some girl involved but that seems silly now. Nothing made be feel better than listening to The Smith's (and later Bob Dylan) as no one was more bitter and depressing than Morrissey coupled with Johnny Marr's guitar. Knowing others were worse off than me always put me in a better mood.
I saw him at Hill Auditorium. The thing I remember most is all the guys--not girls--going up to the stage and handing him notes.
What a double-whammy, after missing a Smiths song tonight at bar trivia.
I'll just leave this here (hopefully it works): Viva! Morrissey!
So much win Thorin.
What difference does it make?
But being racist and batshit crazy is still on the table, right?
As one of the major musical influences in my life, he will be missed.
