OT: Jumpman Football commercial featuring TWO Wolverine greats

I just saw this new ad that features not only Charles Woodson, but Lamarr Woodley. I can't embed the video, but here is the link. Makes sense why His Airness, MJ, chose us first. I tried not to like Drake, but I can't help it.. This song pretty much sums up Harbaugh outlook at Michigan! https://youtu.be/JRofNqvPYck

Good way to not run afoul of contracts and gets me excited for maybe an actual Michigan commercial this fall. Did Adidas ever feature Michigan in a commercial? I know I've seen other colleges featurd in just a generic shoe/appareal commercial.

I get it - it's slang.  Oddly most slang works for me, but this one gets under my skin.  Probably because it's not using a nickname or something else to convey the point, it's just using syntax that doesn't work.

Also, "I realize what I'm saying is grammatically incorrect, but that's how we say it" is pretty awful justification.  The first step is admitting you have a problem, so I guess you have that going for you.

Sorry about your dog man.. I know it's rough. I had to bury my 19 year old jack Russell last year.. Probably one of the hardest things I ever had to do.

Never in a million years would I watch that video and walk away thinking Michael Jordan hates white people (or Polynesian folks, or Native American, or Dutch, or whomever you had in mind that was apparently excluded). But it would be a billion years before I would expect someone repping the Windy City to come with that super hot take.

...MJ is well known in Chicago to hate white people.  The article below illustrates some of it.  From personal experience, I was at a Bulls game in 1996 when MJ was handing out autographs after a game.  He said very emphatically, "I'm not giving no autographs to white people".  My friends dad (Latino) call him a racist and told him to fuck off to his face.  It was awesome.

Also, as aside.  MJ is also well known in Chicago as a morally reprehensible person.  I don't think he is idolized much here anymore.

Again, my original post was meant to be in jest.  Sorry if I rufflled some feathers.

Chicago has its own (horrible) racist history. Jordan famously was rejected membership at an all-white country club here. After he was the most famous person on earth.

Jordan's pretty idolized for his athletic acheivements here, but I think there's more focus on his not-being-the-best-guy-ever than there was when he was playing. People dislike Kobe for how he treats teammates, but Jordan was worse - there was less media playing it up. (Remember that Kobe basically raped a woman? And got a year long goodbye tour?) We often look past people's faults to idolize their acheivements. Jordan's glory is in the past, so it's harder to overlook his failings.
