At first, it sounded like only one fan attended the game.   However, that wasn’t the case.. several fans attended, but - only one stormed the court.

The U of D Titans… didn’t Dick Vitale coach there a long time ago?

He did indeed. U of D actually has a decent basketball legacy. They made the tournament a few times and the sweet 16 at least once. Maybe  more, I'm not sure. Callahan Hall used to be a hot ticket and was jam packed. Plenty of UD players went on to the NBA. Vitale left to coach the Pistons. Those were the days!

They were good in the 90s under Perry Watson. They had a bunch of NBA players on the team and Perry had Detroit recruiting down pat where he can get the best remaining non-P5 players coming to UDM.

They were decent under Ray McCallum with his son playing for his dad, but the program kinda cratered at the end of his career.

True story, I recruited a past Tommy Titan into the Navy’s NUPOC program in the early aughts. After he graduated he was commissioned and was a Nuclear Trained Officer serving on submarines.

Mid-major basketball in metro areas with numerous other entertainment options can be a depressing experience. I've been to games at UIC in Chicago. Their arena is super-accessible and the product isn't bad, but there are thousands of empty seats. Sitting a few rows up at center court is pretty easy to do.

I bought a UDM Titans shirt many years ago. I have no association with the school but it was blue and basically simply said DETROIT in red lettering on it with the old much more subtle UDM logo underneath it. This was at a time when the Pistons were running that teal abomination scheme, so it kinda felt like the closest thing to an old school Pistons look. I liked that shirt a lot actually.

Hard to believe that UDM is this bad.  Coached by Mike Davis (former head man at Indiana).  Roster includes the sons of Hakeem Olajuwon, Ricky Davis (Iowa standout and had a long NBA career), and Mike Manciel (solid career at CMU and HS teammate of Shane Battier at Country Day).

Davis' son graduated last year.  He averaged over 28 ppg last year and over 25 ppg for his career.
