James Harden is going to try and prove you wrong.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||You||
You had me until your last paragraph where you say stop whining and cheer for the team. Believe it or not it is possible to both support the team and be critical of it. In fact, having a fanbase and supporters who are critical of a team is often how programs achieve greater success. Holding a team,coach and program to higher, yet realistic, expectations is a good thing and not always whining. It doesn't have to be either or.

Gather as much talent as possible at every position and the best players will play. If guys don't want to compete to get on the floor then maybe they aren't the type of player you want.

My weekend just got MUCH better. Just sayin'. Thanks MTSU!!!!

Quite possibly the best post EVER!! Well done MAZ!!

So, with all of that experience coming back, we should EXPECT better next year, correct and not just hope? There is a difference between hope and expectations. These are all Beilein's guys that are upperclassmen, so we should expect very good things next year. My goodness people, raise the bar a little at least..
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Come on||
Come on MC, an NIT run means nothing. Also, I guess we have a different definition of what a successful season is. Making the NCAA shouldn't be the goal at Michigan.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||I||
I like Beilein a great deal and have enormous respect for how he trys to run a clean program. With that said, it seems like the common excuses from posters on this site for the disappointing last two seasons typically comes down to injuries and the lack of upperclassmen, correct?
If we assume that is correct, then barring serious injury to key players next year, we should expect a FAR better product than this year, right? Walton, Irvin, and Donnal will be Seniors. Chatman, Rahkman, Robinson, Dawkins and Doyle will all be Juniors.
One last thing. With all of the hand wringing about injuries, we should probably never hear posters here mocking Izzo for his weird guys comments and excuses anymore,correct? The amount of blame being attributed to injuries the last couple years has gotten pretty over the top.

I see what you are saying, but there's no way to spin this as anything but a very significant loss just a few days before signing day. End of the world, no, but a big loss.
|13 weeks 4 days ago||and||
And there you have it. Yikes...
|13 weeks 4 days ago||Umm, no||
Even in this crazy recruiting cycle, that is a massive reach.
|13 weeks 4 days ago||This||
This is gonna be a long weekend. Coaches tweeting weird stuff late on a Friday night, rumors of surprise silent commits and kids on game sites discussing possible commits. I can just imagine what the posts are going to look like for the next couple of days. I shudder just thinking about it....
|13 weeks 5 days ago||Decent||
Decent shot at the tourney, but I don't see a deep run once in. Not quite enough inside to make a major run, unfortunately.
|14 weeks 6 days ago||With||
With the way this recruiting cycle is going, this makes perfect sense. Is it Feb. 4th yet?

I have no idea what this kid will end up doing regardless of where he goes to school, but I do have to say that I just watched his senior highlights and that was about as entertaining as it gets. Even with all of the usual caveats about competition and the fact that it is his highlight film, he certainly has some very nice attributes that translate regardless - like balance, shiftiness, confident hands, etc. Heck, he also likes the physical element of the game a great deal (blocking, trench battles, etc.)
Was half expecting to see him bomb some punts and field goals after he threw a couple 50 yard passes on target. Definitely would love to see him come and it would be fun to watch what he can do over the next few years.....
|15 weeks 5 days ago||Yeah||
Yeah, another year of bad game management!!

Bang away kids, bang away!!
|16 weeks 5 days ago||Is||
Is there anything this guy won't/doesn't do? Dude is a classic.
|17 weeks 5 days ago||I would||
I would rather take my chances with a bunch of five stars. Alabama seems to do ok with very highly rated players all over the field. Are there numerous stories about underrated guys making it big, of course, but on balance you obviously want the higher rated players. Rankings, and recruiting, do really matter.
|23 weeks 3 days ago||10-2||
Why don't we just focus on the fact that in year one under HARBAUGH!! the team has the potential to go 10-2. We need to focus on that because Sparty gonna beat PSU Saturday. Cook will play, PSU's Oline is trash and Franklin certainly won't scheme to account for his team's shortcomings. I'm just thrilled that I can watch games again knowing the team is being coached well and that the future has hope, lots of hope..

I'm not sure why people are assuming OSU will have the same game plan next week that they had yesterday. The weather was a HUGE factor in the awful play yesterday. Granted, they still should have done some other things, but the weather impacted what they would have done. I assume a much more wide open offense against UM next week.
