OT: Hobby - Michigan Sports Customs

Submitted by AlphaBlue on

What's your hobby?

I have posted mine before, but i have added a ton of pieces since then. I use most of my spare time creating custom sports figures.

Here are a few I've done recently:

I crochet winged helmets. Though right now I'm working on like four baby blankets to make my SIL eat her words that I never make anything for her kids, so not working on any lately.

My hobbies regarding Michigan are definitely not this interesting in comparison to these figures. These are great, and very well made too. Well done!

I will send a blank check and you can box these up and send them to me and we'll call it good, right? Seriously, I would really enjoy having something like this for a mantle or shelf.

The Roundtree catch figure is spectacular. I'm not a "visual memory" guy but I can still close my eyes and see him body catch that throw from the TV angle. There's something very unusual about both the trajectory of the ball and the way he shields it that makes the image unforgettable.

I have no idea what you used - tools, machinery, etc. - so that will give you an idea of just how great I think these are. The time it takes to do one of these is probably more than significant, as well. If we all had hobbies that were as productive as this, the off season would, obviously, go by a hell of a lot quicker.

I think it's great that you added both A.C. and Harmon as well in your "Greatest Hits" pictorial. Anyone with his (Harmon's) size that ran a 9.9 100 yd dash as a high school senior in 1939 could play today and play well. A.C., of course, is more contemporary, but I'll still see those who want to place him far down in the pecking order as to MI greats. A three time All-American on a run dominant team. Best wolverine to never win a Heisman imo.

Again, your work is tremendous. Would love to learn more about it. If you revisit this site, I'd love if you could drop your website address. Simply great.

Spoke too early. Looking at them now. Thanks
