OT-Happy for Brandon Peters

Submitted by Bo Harbaugh on October 19th, 2019 at 3:57 PM

Really happy for BP!!!

Just want to say I'm really happy for Brandon Peters, who was concussed by this same team when playing for UM, never complained and was always a good teammate while at UM, and (apparently lucky for us, but unfortunate for him) didn't get to play against us, his former team last week.

Jalen Hurts is an elite QB that won a national title at BAMA and now is leading a top team at Oklahoma. But for guys like Peters their college football careers can often go by without a second chance or maybe even that one remarkable moment.  Today, Peters got his great college football moment.  Really happy for a good kid and hope he continues to progress, and maybe even has an NFL team takes a shot on him late in the draft.

College football is awesome, especially when good things can happen to good kids that keep working.

Happy for the Great Bearded Wonder too....Congrats Lovie.  Whisky was getting a bit too uppity and big-headed...happy to see them eat an abysmal (31 point favorites) upset.

***This was not created for the Shea - Peters debate or Harbaugh QB development debate although I'm sure that's where this heads, as it is ultimately a UM blog.

I don't think that Harbaugh quit on him, he just wasn't what Harbaugh was looking for in a qb. Harbaugh prefers more vocal guys, I think that's why John O'Korn stayed in front of him for so long even though O'Korn wasn't the greatest quarterback.

And the Football Hero of the Day does the playoff committee a BIG favor by allowing them to move Georgia and probably even Vanderbilts of the SEC back into the playoff picture

Imagine the Boner Party today after that ensued when this game was over. No Wisconsin ruining the SEC-Notre Dame slurpfest anymore!

I honestly don't understand some of the people on this board. Why even bother to go on a post clearly labeled "Happy for Brandon Peters", to go crap on Peters or that sentiment?
Why even bother bring up the Peters versus Patterson stuff?

Negging everything and everyone else who is not Michigan doesn't prove or enhance your Wolverine-ness one bit. It just makes you an emotionally stunted human being.

I too, am simply happy for the young man. It's a great day for him and his teammates and Illinois.

He may have only been 9-21 passing (against what has been arguably the best defense in the country, but:

a) he led his team to a huge upset, coming off an injurty

b) I saw the clips of his two TD basses: damn! My first thought was: "FEARLESS"/
Beautiful throws, perfectly thrown into not the biggest windows.

[I do hope to see those kind of throws from Michigan QBs tonight and going forward]

Had the very same thoughts.  You hope that every college player, in any sport, has that moment to tell their grandkids about.

Thanks for posting so I knew to turn on the tube to watch halftime reports, looking forward to see snippets of what'll rightly be perceived as one of the season's biggest upsets.  [2nd largest Big Ten upset in the last 40 seasons, if I heard the broadcast correctly as I was typing.]

Was going to comment on others questioning Brandon deserving a congratulatory post, and just then the second play shown in the highlights was a gorgeous 40-yd TD pass by one Brandon Peters. Don't know the commentators by name, but whoever was talking said he was "very impressed" with the play of the young man.

Things didn't work out for him at Michigan, but this was the kind of game that's a rare occasion for any first-year transfer, oft-injured QB, or any QB at all. He deserves this moment. Happy for him.  And may this moment lead to more to come.

Remember he got dirty hit by Wisconsin and literally end his career at Michigan? He got his revenge moment with his teammates ‘ help. Very happy for him.

Love how you look at 9/21 and assume. Watch the game? Made 2 great throws including the touchdown in the last 5 minutes. Good for him, good for Lovie.

I'm happy for him too.  It sucks it didn't work out here, but like you mentioned it is great to get a second shot.  Lots of guys don't, and I'm happy for him.

I don't know him, so it'd be quite a lie to claim I'm happy for him. I feel a sense of satisfaction about Wisconsin losing though. Not because I particularly hate them or something, but I like upsets.
