Part of me wonders if he got beat out for the spot by Daniels but from the little I've read Daniels may not be 100% back from his knee injury and this certainly seems like a shock to the fans/casual "insiders".  So yeah, this is a big deal and I'm wondering if you'll see other guys sort of follow suit the closer they get to actually having to travel on these games.

But the SEC has a fool-proof plan to play football without worrying about covid!  Why would anyone want to opt out!  Won't somebody think of the fans!

As I have maintained throughout this pandemic, if football as we know it were around in the middle of the 14th century, the SEC would have played through the Black Death. The dead would be grayshirted and replaced, and those who passed on the field from, say, the pneumonic version of the plague would be called for delay of game as they tossed their own lungs with their last earthly breath and their corpses were carried off.

It didn't get a post here but Ja'Marr Chase for LSU also opted out of playing this year, which is a huge loss for them.

I wonder if this will get the ball rolling on paying players. Would Chase be sitting out if he was paid 250 grand? Of course we don't know how much he got from a bagman, though it kind of seems it's more about getting them to the university in the first place and then they get a little spending money and cars while they're in school.

Never know... I remember when Peyton Manning finally left UT and they they finally beat UF and won the national title the next year.

I also remember OSU backups lighting us up (Jones and Haskins) after we looked To be in good shape against their running qb starters.

But you’re probably right...Saban will out-coach Kirby again.
