OT: The future of uniforms is a dark dark place
This may be a little too off topic for this time of year but it has been a slow night with another terrible Tigers game.
A Florida high school team has shown that there is no line when it comes to uniforms. Throughout the last 10 years or so, lead by Oregon, teams are getting crazier with they uniforms. And now this. Courtesy of Flo Rida.
Hopefully this stops.

There are many things I don't like, but it is hard to legislate taste.
- Jorts.
- Skin tight sweats/tights on overweight people.
- PINK emblazoned across the butt.
- Most anything emblazoned across the butt.
- Lots of bling.
- Anything in dayglo colors.
- Most guys over 40 or 50 wearing jerseys.
However, to tell the truth, there were many styles and fashions in the 60's and 70's I have no desire to return to.
- Any pre-fab 5 basketball shorts.
- Most Guys wearing bell bottoms or elephant pants.
- Most polyester stretch fabric.
I've pretty much learned to focus on people's eyes and to block out and ignore the rest, because people are going to wear what they want, whether or not I like it.

...parachute pants? Why does everyone always leave out the '80s (the best decade)? Also really skinny ties. Collar bars. No damn way.

It's time for teams to just give in and go Euro: put adverts on the unis. It can't look worse than that shit.

That would actually look ok if they ditched the neon green and went with all dark green. The neon green makes it look like something David Lee Roth would have worn on stage 30 years ago.

Consider this observation:
Nearly everything in human civilization starts out with the fundamental purpose. Food supplied calories, nutrients, and needed hydration. Clothing protected, kept in warmth and shelter from the elements. Now we pay MORE for food that has fewer calories on purpose and often lacking in key nutrients but are stylish. The best restaurants for example on a calorie and nutrient to price basis often are far worse than the typical fast food place or mom-and-pop corner diner, but people go the restaurant for the style, ambience and to be seen. Likewise with clothing. The whole women's fashion industry is nearly all style and well, by defninition fashion. So it is not surprising that even football uniforms are heading that way. Variant football uniforms are now like variant comic book covers and about as meaningful. The final proof of this is how little in contrast has been spent improving the protective properties of the uniform (helmets, pads, etc).
The next thing and you saw it here first is that the uniform will form some collage image when they stand together, like when the whole offense lines up there will be larger composite image visible.

as with just about everything else, these things will be pushed and pushed and pushed, and in about 7-8 years we won't look twice at them. They'll just juxtapose with the rest of the crap we buy. MASS MEDIA... they'll let us know that we really do like them...

Why is it a "dark dark place" and not just a "dark place?"

...I fully expected the uniforms to be Apple Bottom jeans, boots with the fur, baggy sweat pants, and the Reeboks with the straps. After I saw the real things, I kinda wish they had been. Hideous.

I kind of like the helmets -- racism aside. I am a fan of helmets that look like the thing (see Vikings). If they got rid of the pants and the shirts.
Plus Flo Rida gets a pass from me for introducing blow job related music to Michigan Stadium

It is hard to make two Hall of Fame pitchers look ridiculous. But it can be done:
It is just a bit easier to make the Chisox look ridiculous:

Since I will always be grateful to them, for folding like a cheap lawn chair in the 1984 World Series. Plus the Padres later did digital camo uniforms; one of the first.

Taste issues aside (yeah those chief unis suck) but what's the deal with all the attention that uniforms are getting these days? This used to be total sissy boy stuff and now we've got football players doing it...major wtf?!

I just pray the Wolverines never wear anything akin to those Christmas tree ornaments Sparty wore on their heads last week.
There are many types of Indian war bonnets, from which to choose. Indian headdress vary from tribe to tribe, and even take different views depending on the case. Perhaps you could reflect some beautiful porcupine roaches.
