So what are the fine folks of MGoBlog drinking tonight? I'm currently enjoying an Oskar Blues G'Knight Imperial Red. Oddly enough, this beer is a DIPA but labeled as a Imperial Red.
Also, Michigan beat State, and there was much rejoicing.
Stone IPA and Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye, which may be my new favorite SN beer.
Super pumped for the game tomorrow night, probably the most excited I have been for a U of M bball game in my 22 years of life. What are people doing for the game tomorrow?
My kind of beer.
Crown Royal makes a nice chaser for Thera Flu
+1 totally out of pity.
Got two twelve packs of Shocktop (past) seasonal half off, so hopefully that was worth the fifteen bucks. We shall see.
Shocktop End of the World?
Twelve of that and twelve of whatever the Pumpkin one is.
and Dogfish head Palo Santo Marron (never tried this before).
Wow, two of my favorite beers, lucky. The Palo Santo is on my top 5 list, its my go to celebration-of-a-big-event-in-my-life beer. And Hercules is one of my favorite imperial IPAs alongside Ruination and Double Jack
Gotta let the Palo Santo warm a bit. The hercules is decent.
...and in celebration of a victory for Michigan hockey...
Dark Horse Perkulator Coffee Dopplebock
Maybe my favorite beer ever
Smuttynose fk and No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain.
Piiiiiss out myyyy aaaaaaass!!!!!!!
Did you touch your cousins weiner with that double post?!
Hopslam and Northern Lights before a Badfish (Sublime tribute band) show.
Badfish... Heady crunchy faaaatties bro
love the hopslam... great choice.
El mayor anejo, on rocks.
Like a Boss
watching the train wreck that is goldrush
Welp, the fat shit with the nasty goatee has more shit break down. Oh, fuckin weird, still no gold.
But wait! Over at some other stupidly named craphole some old dick is about to bury his excavator except that he doesn't and then nothing more happens.
How that effing show is still on after 3 + seasons is beyond me. Yet, I still pay half attention when it's on. I guess that's a me problem.
The last beer in my fridge: Young's double chocolate stout.
Might make a whiskey coke with some Kinnickinick whiskey, well see how satisfying the Young's is.
Young's Double Chocolate Stout tastes like nothing, its like adding swiss miss to your natty light
Yeah. Especially considering I recently finished off a six pack of left hand brewing milk stout nitro.
Hey it's college.
Hamms>Bud light, coors light, busch light etc. If I am going cheap I am going Hamms or Genesee
+1 for Hamms. Cheap and not as bad as Natty. Always the classy move.
Also a recommendation for more cheap beer, go to a Trader Joe's if there's one near you (there's one off of Stadium in Ann Arbor, if you're at Michigan), and pick up some "Simpler Times". It's like $4 for a 6-pack, and it actually tastes halfway decent. And at 6.2% ABV you get a little drunker quicker.
300 proof. He's going so hard tonight that...well...fuck chemistry.
They spike the 200 proof with benzene and other random stuff. Totally ruins the taste.
And makes it toxic.
Burnett's with a chase of Hamm's Special Light
That sounds bad....
Lots of Hamms being drunk today.
Good luck being productive tomorrow
Burnetts...ugh. I'm feeling nauseous just thinking about the stuff...
big sky ipa.
I've only tried Big Sky Moose Drool, and that was a pretty good beer. How's the IPA?
pretty much everything by Big Sky is delicious
I would classify it as very solid. Its nothing to write home about, but I would never turn one down. Its a good, simple, nothing fancy IPA
I had my first Big Sky IPA last weekend, and it was a draft. I located a good beer store not too far away that carries many Big Sky beers (love the Moose Drool as well).
Anyway, the bottled IPA doesn't match the complexity and hoppiness of the draft, IMO. Absolutely drinkable, though!
Crown Royal Maple and Coke. So good!
Crown Royal comes in a maple flavor?
Yes sir! Tastes just like maple syrup. It's very good!!
But the maple is a nice way to celebrate two excellent hockey wins tonight! (M over FYS and Red Wings over Blues)
and mountain dew, and it's actually pretty good
Captain is good with vernor's, too.
I approve this message. Captain Morgan black makes it even better
Captain and Apple Cidar is by far the best
And watching this wings game. God we have fallen apart the last 30 minutes.
homebrewed IPA highlighted by a Centennial Dry Hop. Beat Indiana.
40's of Budweiser. I'm drinking Bud heavy either way, might as well drink 40's.
A bottle of dog (as my friends from the other side of the pond call it). Known as Newcastle to we Yanks.
Will sure knock you down. 30 days in the hole.
Russell's Reserve Rye, Dolin's vermouth, Fee Brothers orange bitters, Fee Brothers aromatic bitters, maraschino cherry.
Ram Big Red IPA while out at a (smallish) chain micro brew restaurant.
I had my first Hopslam tonight. I'm not normally one for IPAs, but damn, that was good.
First Hopslam is like first communion
I had my first one last weekend, well my first 6. Bought more tonight!
and Palo Santo Marron
Hot Sprite and thin mints
Spotted Cow brought back from the land of cheese
Anyone go to the tasting in A2 last night? Picked up some northern hawk owl amber ale today
Drambuie, neat. Watching Michigan and Wings, both on DVR!
Is it true, or am I the first to post about Bells Smitten ale!?!?!
IPA nose, with nice mild citrus and pale ale finish. Sort of like taking the hoppy bitters out of IPA, subtracting down the florals and what's left is Smitten. I like that Bells went for a late winter, pre-spring brew. They have needed it.
They make more Hopslam for those of us outside of MI.
Tangeray and tonic over here
Best brown ale. In my opinion they are right.
I had my two weeks off, now it's back to Saturday morning Fire Officer classes at 7am for the next 5 months.
Broke Ass dry red
New Albion Ale, a Sam Adams collaboration. Not too shabby, but not a ton of flavor. Very drinkable though...
I bought a case of hopslam in Chicago two weeks ago because i don't get it up here around Green Bay. sipping on my third Hopslam of the night and might move on to some Absolute acai and squirt.
Sailor Jerry's and cola, it's one of those dirty kind of nights.
Love that shit.
Best year-round beer of all time. Of all time.
Cool blue Gatorade. Not the best flavor but still pretty tasty
$2.00 Miller High Life bottles.
At the Tap Room in ypsilanti. Jack on the rocks. Also special on Bells pints.
Whiskey and coke. Thursday pours.
Who does love Kool Aide? Maybe you should hook up with Jim Jones
And lots of it. Yep.
I've got a bottle of Hahn Cabernet Sauvignon I'm finishing off.
Wranglers and flannel. Rockin the trucker cap. Drinking at the local 6 lane bowling alley. Enjoyed watching the pacers crush the heat. Back to the gym tomorrow so I can start drinking early tomorrow and get ready for the showdown of the college basketball season so far.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Question about hockey: Does it matter how good the players on your team are in general?
Over 60 mins of time there's usually about 3-5 goals total. It seems like its kind of a game of random chance, amirite?
7 and 7 at Babs in Ann Arbor. With a MSU grad and and OSU grad at a friends bday shindig. Kill me.
With no coke
Rough Draft Eraser and before that an IPA by Knee Deep Brewing.
Both get a B +
...but how I would like some Bell's!
I'm kickin' it at Good Time Charley's.... Having a good time....
Drinks Turley wine up in here?
Just got my allocation of around 15-17 bottles. I'm not going to fill it. If you interested let me know
Ya I've had to cut back some also. I usually budget about $2,000-$2,500 a year. I'm on A.Rafanelli, Outpost, Carlisle, Mazzocco, Brown Family from Napa but Turley is still my favorite hands down
Just like my buddy. He has about the same amount of wine but its all stored in his home built cellar. I have about 250 plus bottles and I store all but 3 cases at a wine locker also. I'm working through my 2006-2007 vintages now
From 2007 is AWESOME!!! By yes that's always a great go to wine especially with a great steak
Fireball and pepsi
Some Pliny the younger from Russian River Brewery in Santa Rosa CA
I prefer that to the elder honestly.
Today. Waited over an hour
Younger is nearly impossible to find outside of the brewery. When it does show up in kegs it is gone in hours. Younger>>>>>>>Elder
Lolz, a joke only a classics major would understand and appreciate. Well played! I Vesuvius in laughter.
Drinking woot. Alcohol woot. Smirnoff woot.
Black Butte baby
Just finished an Arcadia Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Delicious.
Just opened a 2013 miller lite. Not sure if ill finish it or save it for later.
Bud Light Platinum and some video games with the buddays.
(lol yer a nerd)
And yer goddamn right I am.
Exit 16 DRIPA
Fat Head IPA. To drunk to care how it tastes anymore.
Yuengling before another day of work in less than 10 hours. Bring the heat.
