They'll be ok with Shaun Hill. That team is built on defense and AP.
August 30th, 2016 at 3:51 PM ^
You clearly have not watched much Vikings football over the past couple years. We'll be last in the division with Shaun Hill.

So, you're saying that Teddy passes the ball to himself?
August 30th, 2016 at 4:13 PM ^
Haha no, but it's an equivalent level of impact to the offense.
But hey, we brought Favre out of retirement once. Peyton, what's good?
August 30th, 2016 at 4:15 PM ^
Press conference us scheduled for 5:00pm EST, looks like.
I'm not a Vikings fan, but fuck season ending injuries. Hope he will be ok.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:41 PM ^
I hear Zach Mettenberger is available since he was just released by the Chargers.
August 30th, 2016 at 5:03 PM ^
You want Josh McCown
You NEED Josh McCown
Don't let the Cowboys or the Broncos beat you to him. First team to dangle a 2nd rounder in front of my Brownies gets thier "rent-a-Super Bowl" QB from the good guys.
August 30th, 2016 at 5:49 PM ^
Mark Sanchez is looking for a job.
August 30th, 2016 at 8:29 PM ^
Tebow is back in the news. Coincidence? I think not...
August 30th, 2016 at 4:05 PM ^
I haven't seen him that much but when I did catch him at Ford Field his arm seemed really weak. Anything to the sideline took forever to get there. Maybe I caught him on a bad day but it seemed like you could be really aggressive against him, especially if he was without AP.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:18 PM ^
As a Bears fan and Michigan native, I think you underestimate how bad the Bears and Lions are. The Vikings could probably place 2nd in the division with present-day Daunte Culpepper at QB.
August 30th, 2016 at 5:19 PM ^
Probably true, but second place at 11-5 is a Super Bowl contender; second place at 8-8 isn't going anywhere even if they make the playoffs.
August 30th, 2016 at 6:00 PM ^
The Bears are terrible. I don't even enjoy watching them play any more.
August 30th, 2016 at 6:15 PM ^
As a Lions I think you know very little about the Lions and should stick to the Duh Bears.

Lol, I'm not trying to be a hater ... I've just seen a lot of NFC North football. I don't see the Lions or Bears doing anything that would fall under the "improvement" category.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:25 PM ^
...you could definitely do worse for a backup QB.
August 30th, 2016 at 7:14 PM ^
You clearly have not watched the Lions.
Your Vikings are now a 3rd place team.
August 30th, 2016 at 3:52 PM ^
100 percent.
3000 yards in his first two seasons, very strong presence in the pocket and has a great ability to move around and find people on the run.
Don't discredit this loss. He was rising quickly through the ranks. Thinking Shaun Hill can come in there and just pick things right up is misguided.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:20 PM ^
I think they're finishing ahead of the Bears & Lions and behind the Packers regardless of who plays QB. I think they're a wildcard team either way, bc they should get 4 easy wins in the division.
August 30th, 2016 at 6:14 PM ^
Um, no.They were swept by the Lions just two seasons ago, I see the Lions splitting with them now that Bridgewater is gone. Lions have the defense to stop AP with Levy back.

...that the sentence "they'll be okay with shaun hill" has been uttered by anyone. including shaun hill's family.
August 30th, 2016 at 5:31 PM ^
I don't know if Rudock is ready yet to be #2, but Shaun would've been a great person to study under. All Orlovsky can teach is how to walk out the back of the end zone.
August 30th, 2016 at 5:35 PM ^
holy shit, Shaun Hill is still in the league?
August 30th, 2016 at 10:34 PM ^
I believe he goes by AD, not AP. As in "All Day", a nickname from HS.
August 30th, 2016 at 11:45 PM ^
You're right. It's AD.
August 30th, 2016 at 3:48 PM ^
Grasped his knee; teammates chucking their helmets, cursing
August 30th, 2016 at 3:52 PM ^
Damn... Feel bad for the guy.
August 30th, 2016 at 3:55 PM ^
Looks like an Antonio Bass situation. Awful.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:07 PM ^
Trigger warning next time, please. I'm currently curled up in a ball, telling myself that it's ok, that we have creativity on offense this year, that it was all a decade ago.
My co-workers are slightly perplexed by this behavior, but I've done worse...
August 30th, 2016 at 3:55 PM ^
Hate to hear these things. Bridgewater stood to have a truly breakout and exciting year this season, and I love the guy's game. He's a freak athlete with an amazingly accurate arm. Sadly, if the rumors around the severity of the injury are true, the Vikings probably just went from playoff caliber to a .500 team, if lucky with Hill.

To prepare for Shaun Hill. As a Lions fan, I never had any confidence in him being anything other than average.
It's a huge blow for the Vikes. I think it took them from potential NFC North champion to probably 3rd or 4th.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:45 PM ^
I have to wonder if this means AP is gonna have to put the offense on his back. Because Hill is no threat, defenses are gonna sell out on the run, and AP is going to be a sore man. If there was one person on the Vikes that loved Teddy the most, it had to be AP. With him gone, that's gonna be a rough year for AP who already has a lot of miles on his body.

With Teddy and AP the Viking were a dark horse pick to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Not so much now. Hate to see dudes get hurt.

colin X will be available soon

I'd rather have Shaun Hill than Dan Orlovsky.

Izzy Mauntelbaum. 80 years old, strong as an ox.

Damn straight. Hill was the best backup QB I can remember the Lions ever having. Heck he was better than most of their starters. He's much older now but he has a few weapons at his disposal in AP, Rudolph, Diggs, and Treadwell. Their D is legit as well. He'll be asked to manage the game and protect the ball. I guess we'll see what he has left.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:06 PM ^
They transported him immediately to the trauma center. That has to be worse than your standard ACL injury, right? Poor guy.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:15 PM ^
Says they put him in a cast, which is usually for a fracture. Doesn't sound good.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:28 PM ^
If he managed to avoid ligament damage, fractures are actually much easier/faster to come back from.
August 30th, 2016 at 5:23 PM ^
The quotes from Zimmer in the press conference don't suggest that this is something easy to bounce back from. The MRI results aren't in yet, but the way they're speaking suggests they think he's done for the year.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:14 PM ^
What are the chances they trade AP and tank?
August 30th, 2016 at 4:30 PM ^
Even if they traded AP their defense is still too good for them to tank.
August 30th, 2016 at 7:36 PM ^
Lower than the Vikings picking up Rudock off the practice squad, then winning the Super Bowl with Jake the MVP.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:24 PM ^
I like to see the Lions do well but not at the expense of health of players.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:24 PM ^
Nm...didn't know it was practice.
August 30th, 2016 at 4:30 PM ^
Rapoport's Twitter days an MRI has confirmed it's a torn ACL. Done for the season. That's terrible, in a Lions fan and this sucks.
