OT: Bolivians -- This is your thread to request clemency.

Submitted by Billy Ray Valentine on

In the earlier Isaiah Hole CB thread, several Bolivians surfaced to make their case for clemency.  I posed the question in the Moderator Action Sticky whether a thread dedicated to clemency requests would be permitted.  One of our gracious moderators indicated that the thread would be allowed, and it also may be a good recipe for humor.

Humor is the hope here, especially self-depricating humor.   Plead your case.  Non-Bolivians should weigh-in either in support or against clemency.  Please do not get political.  And please, do not re-post the exact same material that led to your Banhammer, unless it is in the context of what not to write.

Assuming we can have nice things, a thread like this might be entertaining every few years.

One final note -- I hope the moderators see it in their heart to consider at least one, if not more, application for clemency, assuming the user shows true remorse and accountability without qualification.

(fingers crossed on this one)

I know this sounds like the beginning of a bad joke, but the truth is I met my wife at Titicaca. But in this case, Titicaca was the name of a Russian whore house on Texas Street in Busan, South Korea. All of these facts are true.

I was in neighboring country Paraguay doing service work in the slums of Asuncion. (Health and hygiene education, etc.) Had an awesome time. Was there in November, which is a comfortable time of year. Did very limited sight seeing.

Thing is, the Andes Mountains run right through Bolivia. The aforementioned Lake Titicaca has an elevation of more than 12,000 feet, so very high. To the east, there is a plain, similar to Paraguay. And to the west, it also is flat in Bolivia. So the country is bisected by a very high mountain range.

Would strongly recommend you follow Jim Harbaugh's example and find a place in the world to serve others. He goes to Peru, iirc. You could go to Bolivia. For real.

I was there once with my partner and his girlfriend. We had to leave the States in a hurry - never mind why - and we went into business down there. At first it went OK, but then we ran afoul of the local authorities, who demanded a meeting with us at a local cantina. It didn't end well.

Volunteered at an animal sanctuary in Villa Tunari, which could be considered the Bolivia of Bolivia, about a decade ago. You can walk in never having owned so much as a dog or house cat and become caretaker for a spider monkey or jaguar. Might leave with some scars but 10/10 do recommend.

Hope your friend likes my cool story.

I have been dozens of times to Santa Cruz where my family is from. I have probably 30+ cousins down there. Santa Cruz is a fun city. Been for carnival which was crazy. My experience may be different to most since I could pass as a local and had plenty of people showing me around. Food and drink is dirt cheap and the women are beautiful. Also like the combination of a major city, grittiness of a 2-3rd world country, and vibrant culture. Would recommend it to anyone. Just don't go expecting to lounge in an all inclusive resort and infinite pool. Sure they have those but that's not really the point. An American should avoid drinking tap water as well. Stick to Beer. Pacena is the brew of choice. Sometimes I can even order it here in NYC. Lots of eco-tourism sprouting up now as it has rain forest and mountain terrain.

back in roughly 2008 Brian sent me to bolivia for starting some bullshit thread during OSU week. I worked my way out of it. Point is you shouldn't get saved from Bolivia, you should have to work your way out.

It was during the frenzied Harbaugh search era. I started an OP from an unapproved source that had just been blacklisted without my knowledge. Add in the fact I had iPhone technical difficulties which resulted in the same post listing about five times and I was history. It was like a strange purgatory.

Can I request a flight back to Boliva? Need a vacation and this board sucks in the offseason. No one cares about your MGoKid, and you don't need to post about your personal good news. Save that shit for those close to you, not random blog posters.
