Give me another drink of the Kool-Aid!
That looks too much like Wayne Fontes to be any MGoUser.
No one is kidding themselves that the Lions are an average team and this won't change that but after Golden Tate and Marvin Jones, the receiving corps was marginal. That's a good signing.
Lions weren't going to replace Calvin Johnson with one guy. Boldin gives them the big strong receiver that can outmuscle a smaller CB, Jones has the speed on the outside, and Tate is still running around in zone holes made by the others. I expect a lot of 3 WR sets for Stafford to throw from this year.
Ten years ago. They should go after Marshall Faulk while they're at it
Boldin was a 3-sport star and Florida's Mr Football as a QB in HS: possibly the best HS QB I ever saw. He wwould have been a perfect Harbaugh QB: the best athlete on the team. He got lost in the shuffle at FSU but he was smart enough to move to WR.
Great pickup...
I think he's too old at this point...
Better than the rest of the nobodies in that receiver group after the top 2.
Been that way for 20 years my friend.
Good signing for depth and gives them a nice, reliable option. Not going to take them over the top, but it's a decent summertime move.
If he can re-create last year's perfromance, I'm totally fine with that as the #3 WR. Borderline giddy even.
He's a pretty good locker room guy and they could use some of that for sure
But he brings toughness and experience to the positon for the Lions. Calvin's departure leaves a huge hole in the offensive production. Boldin will help to take the pressure off Tate.
One of the toughest WR's to ever play. He's in the sunset of his career but I think he can still be productive.

That is Crabtree. Crabtree is #15 and Boldin was number #81 on all 3 teams that he played for.

I like the move. No, he's not going to do what he did in his prime but there's no reason to think he can't be suitable for this offense in the role he'll be asked to fill.
this move at all.
I remember his first game against the Lions. That was a bad match-up for them. He kept catching and no one seemed to have an idea how to stop him!
I hear Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson are trying to get back into the league still... ; )
OK with this development. They'll still miss the playoffs (or lose in the WC game) but it is still a neat development.
Oh yeah... I forgot about the lions. Dang...you reminded me.
I remember that game, and yes, that was definitely me. Except at home and much more vocal.

He's 36. His career's about to go bye-bye as it is.
