His raise alone is over 17 times the salary I will make this year. How can you say "only" a $600,000 a year raise. In 5 years that is an extra $3 Million. You must be crazy!!! |
| 24 weeks 2 hours ago | RB issue = Recruiting |
The last question states that Rich Rod had a powerful back that could gain extra yards in Minor. Minor was actually recruited by Carr, so even though he played under Rich Rod he was actually a Carr recruit. I don't think this is a issue with the Hoke Era. because he is still dealing with the cards he was dealt to a certrain extent. You have to remember Hoke only has 1 and half classes that he is recruited and those are all underclassmen. On top of that I do agree that our OL has not played good this year. Good OL play can make even a average back look good. By no means would I say the backs not powering through runs or breaking tackles is a coaching issue at this point. Fitz is a finesse guy all the way. Vincent Smith weighs 160 lbs soaking wet. And even though I like Rawls let's face it, he was a kid that only MAC schools and low BCS schools had offered. There was a reason for that. |

Anyone who wears a U of M wristband during their Highschool football game is ok in my book. Welcome Da'Mario. |
| 36 weeks 1 day ago | Spread |
Devin will get the chance to compete at QB, but I wouldn't be suprised at all to see Bellomy win the job outright. Bellomy is a very good player and the coaches know that. That is the reason that the coaches felt good enough to move Gardner to Wide Reciever. If they didn't feel comfortable with him as the primary backup then they would limit Gardner at Wide Reciever. We may see a couple spread plays in the future, but I think the spread as our main formation is gone. With Hoke's recruiting we are starting to see the Bigger RB's, the Bigger Recievers, The stronger lineman, the emphasis on the TE (with some depth). Just because a QB is mobile doesn't mean they have to play in the spread to be effective. Look at some of these great athletes/runners that have played well in the west coast system: Michael Vick with Philedlphia, Steve Young, Jeff Garcia, Donovon Mcnabb, etc. If our team is molding more toward a west coast team then why not move to that next year? |

Can someone tell me why there is a picture of Bryan Cranston (Walter White) at the top? |
| 49 weeks 1 day ago | Not forgetable to me |
He played in the late 90's and early 2000's, so next fall it will be 12 seasons since he has played for U of M. He wasn't ever the star of the team as he played with Robert Traylor, Maceo Baston, Louis Bullock, Lavell Blanchard, Kevin Gaines, Jamal Crawford and Bernard Robinson Jr.. However he was a Team Captain his Junior and Senior year and ended his career as 4th all time on Michigan Block shot list. |
| 1 year 1 week ago | Top 5 |
Hard to pick just 5, but here is my Top 5: 1) Mike Hart - Loved his attitude, All about Michigan, Love the little brother comment, All-Time Leader in Rushing yards, Never really fumbled until his last game (which we still won), and his dream job is to be head coach for Michigan one day. 2) Jake Long - One of the best Lineman ever at Michigan, could have left early for NFL but decided to stay, A two time co-captain, bonus points for being the first overall pick in the NFL draft and pro bowler. 3) David Molk - Best Center in the Nation, 4 year starter, Played the sugar bowl even though he was injured bad, stayed and always supported the new systems/coaching changes, Great interviews, one of the hardest workers around, bonus points for being a monster in the weight room. 4) Lamar Woodly - Was almost unblockable in his later years, Lombardi Award Winner, Big Ten Defensive Player of the year, Big M tattoo, Stayed 4 years, Bonus points for being a NFL Pro Bowler and also winning a super bowl. 5) Mike Martin - His senior year he was almost unblockable by 1 lineman, stayed and supported the new coaching changes, 3 year starter (4 year contributor), hard worker, beast in the weight room, Great leader had 10 tackles against Virginia Tech |
| 1 year 1 week ago | Novak and Horton |
Novak and Horton get my vote. Novak helped bring this program around, was always consistent, worked harder then anyone, and was always the first person on the floor for a loose ball. He had a great work ethic that I hope the younger players were able to pick up. Horton was a beast. His freshman year they would have been in the tournament had they been eligible. Sophomore year they won the NIT. Senior year they went 22 - 11(8 - 8 Big Ten) and very well should have made it (it's not his fault that Amaker never wanted to schedule a tough opponent.) I wouldn't be upset at all with any of the others, but these 2 get my vote!! |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | Criteria |
Your list is great, but If that is your criteria, then wouldn't Denard be off the team and on the all 2010's team due to him only playing 2009? |
| 1 year 9 weeks ago | I would take him |
I'm not sure he is riding high school hype. This year he averaged 16.3 points per game, 5.4 Rebounds per game, Almost 1 block a game (by the way this is more than double anyone on Michigan other then Horford), 1.3 steals a game. He doesn't shoot well from the free throw line, but if a spot opened up and he was interested then I would hope Beilien would give him a look. He would sit out 1 year and learn Beilien's system and also Belien would have plenty of time to help teach him/improve his game before he saw the court. |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | So you wouldn't put Jake Long in either? |
So would you put Jake Long in the HOF? He went 0 - 4 also but was one of the best OL ever to play at Michigan. Mike Martin, David Molk, RVB all went 0-4 against Michigan St. So does that mean you wouldn't include any of them since none of them beat our rival? |
| 2 years 3 weeks ago | Why are people talking Jimmy Smith??? |
I have seen a number of comments about the lions taking Jimmy Smith. Does everyone know he failed 4 drug tests in Colorado? Do people really think he is going to quit that once he has money to buy drugs? On top of that he also two alcohol related violations and an arrest for third degree assault. Mayhew and Schwartz are character guys and I can't see them grabbing him in the 1st round. |
| 2 years 13 weeks ago | 3 Pointers should open everything up more |
Like Ziff said moving back the 3 point line should only open up the rest of the floor. If you think about it, the defenders will now be moved back to the 3 point lane opening up more work for post play or for back door cuts. For instance the threat of the 3 pointer early made the illinois guard very close, which in turn led to lots of back door cuts. In the Northwestern game they were guarding close also, but in that game it freed up Morgan to go off in the post. The extra foot for the 3 point line shouldn't make a difference for shooters. These kids now are all accustomed to it, so they practice it every day. Any good shooter can adjust their shot and should be able to get comfortable with this range. |
