OSU Safety Tyvis Powell to Enter Draft

Submitted by Bambi on

From his twitter.

Powell is the 5th OSU player to declare for the draft, following Joey Bosa, Cardale Jones, Ezekiel Elliot, and Darron Lee last night. Powell was thought to be one of the guys more likely to stay so losing him is somewhat of a surprise for OSU.

OSU is still waiting on decisions from Eli Apple, Jalin Marshall, Vonn Bell, and Michael Thomas.

They are wonderful fans, posters, fathers, just leave them alone. This is uncalled for, it's not nice. We love Buckeyes here, so fuck you Michigan fans that don't love and welcome Buckeye fans. Fuck you judgemental Michigan graduates for not loving and embracing Buckeyes like you should. It's just not nice.

Your reading comprehension isn't very good for a Michigan grad. I have no issues with any posters. My comments in this thread serve to simply point out the over the top defense of Buckeye posters going on here. If you bothered to read the comments I have made no issue with the Buckeye posts, but you apparently didn't read them. I'm not comfortable with douchy comments period. Whether directed at Buckeyes or Michigan fans, and there were douchy comments made attacking Michigan fans here. So next time read, comprehend, then realize that my issue was never with posters from any other school but the unnecessarily douchy comments by board members in response to douchy comments made by a Michigan fan.

I have no problem with any posters. Immoral? Subhuman? Wtf are you talking about? Did I say any of those things, no! Nice straw men. I am simply pointing out the over the top defense of Buckeye posters, including comments attacking Michigan fans that are just as douchy as the ones said by the offender. Try not to generalize, and lump my posts into the offenders.

Actually, you've made the "douchiest" comments on this thread by far. You defend a baseless attack on rival team posters with weak sarcasm, then refuse to defend the secondary position you assert in defending the baseless attack and in the attempt at funnie-haw-haw sarcasm. On some level, you get that this position is untenable at best, so you cling to a last desperate bit of failed rhetoric--"People who don't agree with me are stupid!"

How's that for reading comprehension?

I know, cliche but If you are not sure fire first 3 rounds than stay in school, improve your draft stock and maybe, I don't know, get your degree?

Hopefully they lose Michael Thomas and Vonn Bell. They would probably the two toughest to replace. Losing Apple would be great as well. I can't believe Jalin Marshall is considering leaving.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he is very good at football yet. Good athlete, but needs more experience. Tedd Ginn was way more pro ready than Marshall at this point.

The more Urbz has to replace and teach, the more quickly he will burn out.  I give him another 2 years before the old heart condition kicks in.  Unless he can find some coeds to keep him spry.

This wll be Saban-Meyer redux, only this time with Harbaugh sending him in to permanent retirement.  Urbz is a great football mind, great yet sleazy used car salesman recruiter, but has the endurance of a 10 cent light bulb.  He is and has always been a front runner.

He is NOT a jackhammer.

I have to be honest...that was the most Eleven Warriors/RCMB type comment that I have head in a while.

Urbz...check
Heart condition...check
Coeds...check
Scared of another coach...check

What, no reference to cold pizza? Come on, your better than that.

Meh....

Did he claim a heart condition....Check

Did he bang a grad student at UF.....Check

Did he flee UF when the Saban shadow was growing and times were getting tough.....Check

Guy is a front runner and sleazy.  I didn't mention all the arrests and questionable characters under his watch at UF because he seems to be running a tighter ship so far at OSU.

I'm not sure how anything I said about Meyer comes off overly juvenile when it is supported by his recent history.  And yes, if YOUR going to play the sanctimonious blogger, at least make sure YOU'RE grammar is on point.

Did he "claim a heart condition"? Yes, if going to the hospital for mystery chest pains that turned out to be esophageal spasms constitute that definition. Say whatever you want about the guy's past or behavior, I never thought the "Michigan difference" included mocking a guy for stress induced health problems.

Well,

He didn't "claim" a heart condition so much as he was diagnosed and treated for a heart condition. Indigestion, acid reflux and the like may not sound serious, but it is painful, accelerated by stress and people go to the hospital to receive treatment for it all the time.

Did he bang a grad student? Seems like a total rumor that's never been substantiated anywhere by anyone. But good for you confirming it for all of us.

The Fleeing Saban meme? They played in opposite divisions. At most, they would be playing one huge game that mattered against each other each year (assuming they don't cross over, and that game counts less toward the standings anyway). So the same as if Urban was anywhere else in the country and wanted to win a national championship. Beat Saban once. It's not like he coached at a direct division rival who needed to go through Alabama every year. Besides, if I really wanted to come off as irrational and insane, I'd make the same points about Harbaugh fleeing the NFL because of some made up afraid of coaching against some other good coach reason. But I won't say that, because I'm not a crazy person.

And quite frankly, you could have been justified in pointing out Urban's tight ship at OSU, because a fair amount of notable players have done stupid things, like Hyde, Stoneburner, Barrett and Washington. Granted, they all were punished with suspension, but if you wanna take shots at the culture, feel free.

most coaches view players going pro as a good thing unless they are absolutely bare at the position behind them. Top recruits want to go pro and proof of that is a good thing. This is only "good" for us in the sense that they may be inexperienced in a few spots next year. It's not a sign of bailing or the like.

With that said, brushing it off as a team 'reloading' is naive. There will be growing pains. I don't expect to beat an Oklahoma team with a ton of offensive talent returning in Norman. I do expect to beat a depleted Wisconsin team without their DC.
