Most things I've read, and most coaches to whom I've spoken, say that it's still worth playing even if you know you're going to get your butt kicked.

The idea being that no matter who is coaching next year, you want a young team to have more time playing in real games and practicing. It's true for Bowl games too. So there is value there. I don't know that I want to watch it, but I get the argument.

I know most are not motivated for the game this year with everything going on. I am really debating on not watching it since I’m down here in Columbus. Anyone else have the same sentiment?

Just shut yourself in the house for the day, probably the whole week, and don't come out until the  Monday after the game. I lived in Columbus from 2013-14, and it was quite possibly the worst time, as a Michigan football fan, to possibly be living there. OSU won a national title and Michigan couldn't even make a bowl game.

I feel your pain, pal.

I listened to the Indiana game on the radio while working. Did not have it on in the truck on the way home.

I "watched" the Wisconsin game. As in, the buddies were over to my barn and the game was on in the background. Didn't take long for drinks, darts and bags to be take 99% of our attention.

The Rutgers game actually had most of our attention, although it was snarky and scorn filled attention.

Not one of my group of game-watching buddies said anything about watching PSU. And we were all in agreement that it could be like the Rutgers game. We all at least thought UM had a chance.

The Marlyand cancelation didn't move the needle either way.

Could not care less if "A Game" was played. If it's played I will not take time out of other activities to watch.

Could not care less if the crossover game is played. If it's played I will not take time out of other activities to watch unless it's at night.

Tell you what, it’s been depressing in general living in Columbus last couple of years being a UM fan. 10 years ago, OSU fans had the hatred like there once was. If you wore UM gear anytime, you were getting shit constantly.  5 years ago, the sentiment changed. Half of them still hated us, while half started to sympathize. You could wear UM in public without getting shit but still someone would stop and give you hell. Now, I would say 3/4ths have started to feel bad and sympathize. Wearing gear in public, people don’t say anything and you’re just an idiot. The sentiment has drastically changed and I hate the sympathy I get from my osu friends, co-workers, etc.

That is one of the safest bets out there. It’ll be a complete and total bloodbath of this game gets played.  If this gets played, I’m putting down at least $100

What's the point anymore?

The game is so old and one sided it might as well be called Battle of the Little Bighorn.

When we get an administration that cares about football, and I'm talking about ABOVE Ward Manuel, then maybe we'll get a football team.

Right now playing Rutgers is thrilling and they're our true rival.

I know! I just can’t wait for another beat down loss from our most hated rival, courtesy of Jim Harbaugh coaching, development, and program building.

Definitely couldn’t get better results than this guy churns out year after year.

Are you excited!? I’m excited!

OSU could win this game if all of their starters sat. I'm dead serious. Harbaugh was brought in to close the talent gap against osu, and I think it is worse than RR years at this point.

I don't think so overall; but that would be an interesting thing to check out. To my memory (caveat emptor) RR floated on alot of Carr's last guys, then left us in a huge O line lurch that was briefly fixed by Hoke, then he broke it again.

I'm at the point where under three coaches I don't get our approach to recruiting. We seem to have huge gaps from time to time.

So does this infuriate the team and inspire them to outperform their abilities?  Or discourage the team and lead them to lay down and consider a pummeling inevitable?  Let’s hope the coaches are able to engineer the first reaction.

The season might be. It might be under Harbaugh, but it might not, I don't know. But prior to and just after Minnie we all thought the world of the program, or many did. Last year MSU looked to be dead. Things change quickly in college football and it behooves us not to live in the world of the last several weeks and project that out or make absolute pronouncements.

well, i thought they would respond to Wisky this year after the 21 pt beatdown they gave us the year before... They responded by losing by 38 points

Similarly, i thought Michigan would have a response to OSU's 14pt win in 2018 where they put up 62 points...instead they lost by 29 points...

I don't have a lot of faith that this year will be the turning point, based on what has actually transpired this year.

We are every bit as bad as everyone thinks we are.  But OSU isn't as good as people think they are, their defense is bad.

I don't think it gets played, but if it does, OSU 55 Michigan 24

You’re certifiably insane if you think we put up 24 points on OSU.

We’ll need every ounce of luck we can muster just to get within field goal range...unfortunately we’ll have used up all our luck just getting in range and won’t have anything left for the actual kick, so we’ll still miss.

If it's Harbaugh calling plays like '15-16, then maybe we get some scores.

If it's Gattis calling plays like the latter part of last season, or like he called under Minnie or with Cade, then we might get some scores.

If it's Gattis calling plays like the early part of last year, or the last few games, then expect alot of 3-out.

The defense is what I really worry about. Brown hasn't been able to stop them in two years *with* the guys he wants.

Honestly, I don't want Hoke to coach; but I wouldn't mind him coming in to hype up the team for the next week. He always seemed to get sub par talent teams wound up for OSU.

I wish they would separate Michigan and OSU into separate divisions, and stop playing every year.  That way, when they play in the Conference Championship game, then it becomes "the game", again.  Removing the hurdle of OSU from the same division would open up a bunch of possibilities.  It can still be a "rivalry", but they only play each other when it's for a conference championship....as it should be.

Only way in hell they don't cover that spread is if they call the dogs off.  I don't expect them to do that after the pre-season spat Day and Harbaugh got in.
