Ohio State Next Week

Submitted by Raback Omaba on
I've had my emotional challenges today with this game. I just can't bear to watch this happen, week in and week out. With a few exceptions, the past two years have been Saturdays like this. There...I had to get that out. Now I'm back. Ohio State is going to be huge for this team and this coaching staff. Circle the Wagons. Lay it all out on the line. Coach Rod has fewer allies every week, so this will be his chance to make a statement. I see this team playing their best game of football all year. Brandon Graham, the leader. A True Michigan Man - in it when the times were tough, but never wavered. I have a tremendous amount of respect for this kid. The same goes for Minor and Brown. These kids have never beaten OSU. And they know it. Pryor will be visiting for his first time. Let's show him what the Big House is really like. I see these kids taking it to Ohio State next week. RichRod turns the heat down on his seat, at least enough to give him some breathing room over the off season. We're gonna win guys. That's the way it's gonna go down. We're gonna beat Ohio State, There's no question about it. Mark it down. I guarantee a Win.

You seem rather depressed and disaffected Thomas. You do realize that no matter how much you bitch and moan on a message board, that noone who is connected with Michigan football gives one shit about what you think? I support Michigan. There is nothing I can say that will change the situation. Therefore, while you choose to be a petulant ass, I choose to allow this young, inexperienced team that needs more talent to be brought in to develop, organically, naturally. If you don't like what's going on, stop posting and stop rooting for Michigan. Seriously, there is nothing you can say to change the situation any quicker, so just be patient. If you can't, well, eat a shit sandwich and quit whining like a 4-year old.

There you go again with the insults, profanity and personal attacks. That says a heck of a lot more about your lack of character than anything else. I suspect that many people in your life have a deep hatred for you and your arrogance. Do you deride everyone in your life...trying to control them? Your posts on this forum indicate that either you do, or you are just some little weasel with lots of pent up anger that needs to come out. You may want to get some help for that.

This is insane. I'm talking about Michigan football, and you're impugning the way I conduct affairs with my family. Furthermore, implying that my family, including my three children (including one born last Saturday night) have a deep hatred for 'me and my arrogance' is just beyond the pale. Again, I'm talking about Michigan football and you're talking about my character, my family, that I'm a weasel.

I also noticed his brother plays fullback. Family must be loving it. Seriously we should be able to toast Boren with speed. They are good but they are classic roadgraders - I actually think Wisconsin was the bigger challenge and we handled them fairly well upfront. The Wisconsin QB kept things safe and didn't make the big mistakes - Prior will make them if we can bother him.

You think Tolzien kept things safe? I think he lighted us up like a Christmas tree. Also, I wouldn't say we handled them "fairly well upfront." ... Unless you consider being out-rushed 229 yards to 71 yards to be "fairly well." (Tate rushed 8 times for -16 yards, not sure how many were sacks v. runs). Quite frankly, we got our asses handed to us (again). Not sure how anyone can rationalize that away. Do you disagree? I'm open to optimistic opinions, but I don't follow the idea that today bodes well for next week.

Does anyone know which bowl game we will go if we win? The one down the road in Detroit? I just know I will act like we won the Big 10 if we beat Ohio st, but I won't pull a sparty or tosu and burn couches.

You rise to the occasion. Just throw it all out there and let it fly. OSU and particularly Prior will make mistakes. Just be aggressive and turn their mistakes into points. We don't just need turnovers - we need defensive scoring like we got today. Purdue and Navy both got to them - we can too.

How solid our defense stands and how hard they will play. They are going up against a very strong offensive front with Pryor thrown in the mix. Michigan will have to man up big time on players like Posey, Sanzenbacher, Saine and Hereon. It will be a tough task but with Brandon leading the gang this defense can rise to the challenge and stand tall. Our offense will have to get into a rythem early too in order to keep Osu's defense on their heels. A first down on the first possession would already be a great start because if were going to make this upset happen that ball is going to have to move down the field early and often. It's tough BUT it can be done!

I am making my wife sit with me to watch the game. That's all I want. I have plenty of quit in me too, BUT NOT FOR THE FUCKING GAME! I could have asked for a half time blow job. BUT THIS IS THE FUCKING GAME! I can bitch and whine how their defense is too tough, and we are too inconsistent offensively. Or I can sit down and ENJOY THE FUCKING GAME! We can recap the season once it is concluded. But for now, I am planning my next week around the only 3 hours that matter this year. Get on board or stay home, and stay quiet.

Rich Rod is a genius. He opened the season showing that this Michigan team can do some damage. Then he pulled back on the reins after four wins so that we could beat Baby Seal U and the buckeyes to get bowl eligible. The team is gonna come out next Saturday and look incredible and the Buckeyes won't know what hit 'em.

To win, we need to exceed expectations. That's not something we've done since the Notre Dame game really. Last year, when we were absolutely abysmal, we suddenly woke up against Minnesota and blew them out. This was not sustainable, and we proceeded to end the year on a pummeling. But bad teams CAN exceed expectations, and that's our only chance to win against OSU. Now, on paper, OSU wins this...BIG! But with the Rose Bowl locked up, and no real shot at a National Championship, how much "fire" does OSU have? I know they'll be jazzed up for the game, but their future is already set. On the other hand, Michigan needs this one game for a bowl. They need it to snap a 5 game losing streak. They will be hungry, and maybe just maybe, if the bounces go our way, we pull off an upset.

In ANY rivalry game, the records can be basically thrown out. With upperclassmen being 0-fer against (those who shall not be named), this being the last chance for bowl eligibility, Rich Rod trying to salvage this season, Pryor's first trip to the Big House, and coupled with a Barwis pre-game speech? I may be optimistic (it comes with being a true blue fan), but I like our chances.

Sorry, but at this moment your MGoPoints are 666, that doesn't make your prediction look good. Im expecting a 3rd quarter bloodbath and OSU taking it 52-18. With that being said, Im still going to be tailgating in AA and cheering my ass off for them to win.

wanted to strangle Kirk Ferentz for not trying to win the OSU game with the ball on their own 30 yard line, 1 minute left and two timeouts? He even called timeout on OSU's fourth down to save time for his offense! For crying out loud, Tressell looked like he wanted to run over and kiss Ferentz for saving his ass. Iowa had them on the ropes and could've easily won the game in regulation. Just shoot me if Rodriguez EVER does something like that.

Thinking about it, and looking at past editions of The Game, I think our best hope is Brandon Minor going all Biakabatuka on their sorry Buckeyes asses, and running like he might never get up if he goes down. I know they're an outstanding defense, and the loss of Molk has really badly affected our O-Line's productivity, but damn. If Minor goes off, Tate plays as well as he has the past two games (except the disastrous speed option against Purdue), and we somehow win the turnover battle, well, that might be enough. God I hope we beat them.
