Well, i don't know enough to know whether or not this is industry norm.  I do find it funny though that they spend 15 minutes on that, and 30 minutes on Strength & Conditioning.  Oh, and the 4 hour break between 2 and 6pm.  That's got to be a joke.

Fair point... I'm just saying how bad is it compared to other universities?  I don't know what Michigan's schedule looks like.  One would think you would have a prof give a guest lecture  or mock class to the group of visitors.  What could possible be covered in 15 minutes?  Can't even cover the different schools within the university in 15 minutes.

but I simply don't know what is expected on these visits at schools that supposidly excel in academics.  Seems rediculous.  Most those kids won't play professional football, they should get some hands on experience in the classroom.

I've been on visits to schools for football and believe it or not, to me that seems as an indication of how OSU views their academics or their importance on them. The schools I visisted that had strong academics sold it. The schools I visisted that had strong academics talked about it and wanted their student-athletes to take academics seriously. The ones that were only concerned about wins & losses seemed to not care and basically had you tour the buildings and meet the admissions people and past that, nothing.

Ohio State spends the rest of that time mapping out how they kick our ass every year in football.... which is really what we care about at the end of the day.

Recruits there are shown 1) hot girls 2) good parties and 3) reassured that school isn't hard.

It seems to work pretty well if your goal is to get the best 5 star talent.

Interesting. Found a sample itinerary on the Oklahoma website. Go to page 28. Doesn't show duration, though, so could be 15 minutes or it could be an hour.

To be fair, though, this kid apparently did make several unofficial visits, the only distinction being that osu is paying for the official, so it's entirely possible that he already had the full academic spiel.

On the other hand...
