His base salary for 2014 is $280,000 with an additional $550,000 in other compensation. The $550K does not include bonuses for such things as bowl games or winning the B1G.

If we did everything right, the $550,000 in additional compensation should include a goodly amount of MGoPoints - at least enough to get access to the private room of the MGoClub plus mod powers and a weekly column on the front page of the site. I have to believe this was a minor but not unimportant part of the deal.

As a top-revenue school that has lots of money, one of the benefits we are afforded is to be able to throw $$ at problems. It's an absolute competitive advantage over most schools, and one we should push hard. It can help to cover a lot of warts. It makes sense that we are doing this, good move by DB to shell out here.
