Can those asshats do anything right? The one time I'd like to see them win and they come up with that.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:32 PM ^
I was on my seat watching the game. Like I said before, I was rooting for Nebraska to lose so if that meant a sparty win, then so be it. That is the price we pay for a BTC.
Just when I thought sparty might, just might be worthy of an "atta boy", they take a shit. For a second, I knew what is is like to be sparty too. But I have to laugh, its the same 'ole sparty. Nothing is new here, nothing to see, move along.
They have a few successful years against us when we were down and they get all giddy and think they are our equal. But as statistic show, everything regresses toward the mean. One cannot take a data point that is beyond 6 sigma and think it is normal.
sparty will always be sparty. I just hope we learn our lesson and never think they can win a ga,e which would help us.

Damn, Nebraska was about to lose and the same for ND. 30 seconds of freak plays and Nebraska wins and looks like also ND
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:37 PM ^
At least ND might still lose. Not that it actually matters. PSU better wipe the floor with Nebraska.
Edit: Never mind. Fucking Pitt snapper and kicker.
November 3rd, 2012 at 8:01 PM ^
And that is why long snappers are important
November 3rd, 2012 at 10:15 PM ^
Funny, but I don't remember anyone calling any of Michigan's comebacks "freak plays." The correct teams won both games.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
Don't worry. Dantonio just needs another week to coach up his 3 stars into 5 stars.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:37 PM ^
Coaching up talent does take longer when you're laying in the weeds.
November 3rd, 2012 at 8:28 PM ^
Perhaps someone should remind him that you can't just lay there forever. Eventually you need to spring into a surprise attack ... or at least yell "Boo!"
November 3rd, 2012 at 8:16 PM ^
in the weeds.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
I must say, I quite enjoyed that (depsite rooting for green).
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:49 PM ^
I was torn, I just could not bring myself to root for the Spartoons. If they could not win an agonizing defeat highlighted by personal foul penalties was the way to go.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
Thanks for being absolutely useless Sparty.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:24 PM ^
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:27 PM ^
Yeah bad call. But that call would never have been made if sparty hadn't: 1) thrown a cheap shot on an interception return, 2) caught passes thrown to open receivers, or 3) played defense on 4th down.
Enjoy the sparty no.

some very questionable PI calls against Nebraska earlier in the game.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:40 AM ^
Questionable calls are nothing new. It wasn't a good call but it's a judgment call and there have always been iffy judgment calls. The officiating now is probably better than it's ever been.
November 4th, 2012 at 6:36 PM ^
Why would officiating be better than ever? The speed of the game is faster than ever, which should make it harder than ever to correctly spot infractions.
November 3rd, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
How can a block on the interception return be a "cheap shot" when Dennard still had 70 yards to go? Adams caught up with him at the end. Presumably the Nebraska player could have, too.
Dumb block by Adams because it was uncessary. The irony is that the refs were so eager to keep Nebraska in the driver's seat that U-M got screwed indirectly.
Four losses by four points or less. That nees to be cleaned up. But I wouldn't look forward to the game in EL next year.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:24 PM ^
..at least their coach is classy after a loss.
November 4th, 2012 at 9:58 PM ^
Did you see the Red Cedar Bowel Movement? They are calling for marky mark's head. They want a whole new staff.
Now I dont like marky mark anymore than the rest of this board. But what do they expect? marky mark is not a miracle worker. He cannot coach up 3-star guys every single year. It is just impossible. sparty is right about where they should be: middle of the pack @ .500.

UM fanhood > Sparty fanhood.
Proven true once again. Dman, that was a hard game to watch, to cheer for, to get upset over, and then to lose.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:24 PM ^
at the end of the game? I had to chuckle.

No you don't. You were rooting across enemy lines, which no Sparty would ever do.
November 3rd, 2012 at 8:41 PM ^
I am convinced that they lost on purpose just to make it harder for UM to make it to the B1G championship game....or they are just that lame.
November 3rd, 2012 at 10:43 PM ^
But I suppose you need to think that to feel superior. Instead, it just makes you look stupid. But since you're among the stupid I guess that's fine.

This looks like Nebraska's year. It's hard to see them losing to PSU at home, and Iowa and Minny.
Hello: Capital One Bowl.
November 3rd, 2012 at 8:39 PM ^
Well, they are about as dependent on Martinez as we've been on Denard. If he were to get hurt, that could change the picture.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:30 PM ^
To be fair, Sparty has a loose bowels syndrome and shouldn't be made fun of for shitting the bed this one particular week.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:26 PM ^
Ron Zook Dumb Punt of the Week goes to Mark Dantionio for punting on 4th and 2 on the Nebraska 42 with ~1:20 left and no Nebraska timeouts left. Make that and it's game over.

Classic, absolutely classic Sparty on the PF on the pick 6. The PI call at the end was one of the worst calls I've ever seen though. Now, go Pen State!!
November 3rd, 2012 at 8:45 PM ^
To be fair, I think the PF on the pic6 was questionable....I believe the rule is 20 yards behind the play or more...from the angle I saw on the replay it wasn't 20 yards behind...but was 20 yards away. That guy could have gotten back into the play to make a tackle because of the traffic that had to be avoided. That one plus the PI were bad calls IMO.
November 3rd, 2012 at 7:27 PM ^
So, how can UM get to the B1G Championship now? First tiebraker is head-to-head, not overall conference record, right? If so, I think Neb only plays Minn and Iowa, so, um yeah.
However, they do play Penn State, while we do play OSU - is it overall conference or head-to-head.
MSU: F U more than usual.

I'm okay with MSU losing. It just feels right.
Nebraska has shown enough weaknesses to lose to PSU. Or to Iowa.
In the long run, I'd rather see MSU continue to lose because, well, they certainly didn't win with dignity.
November 3rd, 2012 at 8:07 PM ^
If PSU doesn't pull the slight upset over Nebraska, it's just two gimme putts for the Huskers
